Do any of you have a strong opinion on what Feline Leukemia vaccine to use? I've heard there is a killed virus or a live virus. What is your preference? I've heard there is a new one that is out and it's a live virus. Thanks so much! ___ Felvtalk mail

Lynda, I recently had 2 of my cats vax'd for felv...make sure the vax doesn't have an adjuvant...they are known to possibly cause a sarcoma at the injection site...The brand was Merial, and it is 'PUREVAX Recombinant Leukemia Vaccine and the VET *JET* transdermal. I have one cat who has reactions

I have never heard this before and have had FELV cats since 2003, and read up on it, used to more than I do now. I seriously doubt if there's any truth to it at all. Perhaps they're getting mixed up with the FIV vaccine causing a cat to TEST positive for FIV (not turn positive though).
