Lance,
Callie is definitely in my thoughts and prayers and is Ember and you.
Hopefully, her immune system will step up and kick some FeLV butt. Adult
cats have such an easier time kicking that nasty virus. I've read tons of
stories through this forum and have experience with positives m
Lance,
I will be praying for Callie and Ember. Just remember 70 % of cats already
have a built in immunity and are able to fight off the virus. No point in
beating yourself up. I know that we all do that.

You are second guessing yourself. What if's just drive you crazy with worry
and do not help the situation any. Also, She can pick up on your stress and
that can stress her out. There is an old saying," Let go and Let God". That
and continuing to give her lots of love, good food and shelter
that she didn't.

Lance,
I know it's hard but I really wouldn't worry too much about it. Some of the
negatives I have were really sick and in the same small kennel for months with
sick FeLV's before I got them. Callie is also an adult so more immune to the
virus.
DMG is really good for cats
Have you had her tested yet?

The hardest part is that this was preventable. Not all accidents are,
but when they are, they feel all the more tragic.
I'm talking to an alternative medicine vet at 3:30 to see if she thinks
DMG would be a good idea. I'd prefer to get the go-ahead from a
professional. Really, it's up to Callie's

Hi Margo,
The bite did not abscess. I only found one small scab on her neck. It
was probably a territorial bite. I don't think Callie is close enough to
me enough of the time for her to intuit anything from my level of
stress.
She is not on immune boosters currently. I was reluctant
Hi Lance,
Could you describe the bite? How deep, where, and did it abcess, or
become infected? How many puncture sites did you find?
Just a thought, soft stool and blood can be indicative of stress. Is
Callie an intuitive girl? If she's picking up on _your_stress conce

Thanks, everyone. Please keep our tabby girl (Callie) in your thoughts and
prayers. A bite is very serious, and I suspect that the loose stools mean she's
dealing with the infection. Hoping she ends up as a negative.

Lance please don't beat yourself up. Things happen & we just have to deal with
what is going forward. It is unlikely Callie got infected unless there was food
they were sharing.

Hi everyone,
Please pray for my mom's cat, Callie. I mentioned her here a few weeks
ago, after my FeLV+ cat, Ember, bit Callie when she accidentally got
into Ember's room. Callie has had soft stools for the last four days,
and there was blood on her stool on Saturday. Since Callie h
Tad and Marie, I am so sorry to read about your loss of Callie. I don't know which is worse, to know they're sick and go through the decisions about what is best to do in trying to treat, or have something like this that happens so fast. Either way, it's so hard to lose

blessings when you're in so much pain, but it is a blessing that she was

Tad,
I just read your messages about Callie. I am so sorry
that you lost her. It was so abrupt, too. You did
the strong and right thing by helping her over the
bridge when she was in pain that wouldn't be going

close companions
Tad and Marie:
My sincerest condolences to you both upon the loss of your furchild, Callie. I have been caring for these special creatures for over 40 years and each loss is as heartbreaking and painful as my first loss. The time we have to share with them is way too short, but were it not for

Tad and Marie,
I am so sorry for your loss. Callie, got to live a loving life, though,
much too short. I wanted to thank you both again, for taking in those with
FELV and allowing again and again your heart to be broken.
