Wow! What you are seeing with multimeasure rests are they are resetting to default positioning because you have Update Automatically checked in Document OptionsMultimeasure Rests. Uncheck it. This was introduced in FIN08 I believe...maybe earlier. The other item you bring up I cannot understand
