Hi, guys...I've been out of the enterprise document authoring environment
for awhile...
Has FrameMaker achieved a successful and clean integration with Documentum?

John,
I have worked in Pune for 4 years. You can definitely find the person you
are looking for in Pune.
Tech Writing in India is a little new for the Devs\QEs. The good thing is,
you already know the challenges the Pune hire might face.
There are plenty of writers in Pune with 10+ years of expe
You can always save the files, or the suspect files, out as MIF and then
compare them using a text editor; i.e., Notepad++ or TextPad. That will display
any differences.

Hi, guys...
If money was no object (as long as justified), and you were currently using
FrameMaker with no CMS to manage 20,000 pages by a single author, what
combination of authoring front end and CMS backend would you consider for a
document database 10X larger with multiple authors around the w
Do what I do - create a separate Outlook PST file for Frame List mail then
write a rule that dumps all the posts into that data file.
You only have to look at it when you want to.

I use 6 different plug-ins from Silicon Prairie and would definitely recommend
them.
There’s also Table Cleaner from Rick Quatro (http://www.frameexpert.com). It’s
come in very handy a few times.
And all of these plug-ins are extremely affordable.

Hi, all.
I did a bit of looking and am not sure I see an answer for a concern that I

In one of my books that I created and have edited over the years, it is

Experience won't be an issue; quality may be. We'd hired technical writers
in Pune as far back as 2001. We don't have writers there anymore. We found
people who had a good attitude and were interested in our software, but
their writing wasn't "clean." Grammar was a real issue. I was surprised,

Hi, David. I watched their video. They seem to stress linguistics and
usability, and measuring that stuff.
While those are secondary factors on my end, my priority is style, format,
content control consistency, and authoring speed. It's hard to explain, but

Thank you to everyone who helped me out this morning. Obviously I am new to

solve. I just can't thank you all enough-already I'm getting value from the

I would give serious thought to Acrolinx, if you're facing consistency issue as your content scales up and if you're going to bring in multiple writers. It can also help other casual content authors (e.g., developer's and tester's design and use case docs; marcomm) or give you a fast-editing path t
I was really impressed by Finalyser but didn't have the budget for it.
I'm not sure if they're still localizing for English.

Good luck! I believe your best bet would be to find an American tech writer
living in Pune, or hire someone in Boston. Plenty of companies parse out tech
writing jobs to off-site writers. If you're concerned about quality, imo, your
US-based team needs to do at least a copy edit!

Linda,
Just go to http://groups.yahoo.com/ and log in. You will see a list of all the
groups you are a member of using that email address.
Since frameusers is not a Yahoo group, you shouldgo to
http://lists.frameusers.com/mailman/listinfo/framers, log in and change your
mail delivery.
I created a folder for the forum e-mails and then create a rule that
automatically sends them there. I'm using MS Outlook. This way I can read them
when I'm able.

Sorry Linda, there's no forum on this mailing list (AFAIK) - you can get posts
