Hi Framers,
I am suddenly stuck with a new problem. When trying to print an fm file to

Even if I close Framemaker I still get this message.

You know, there is a slight difference between en-dash and the minus sign

You can also use the minus sign (Unicode8) U+2212. That works.
FM is not very handy at making it easy but you can add it using the Windows

Hi all,

Thanks to all who responded.
Attaching the variables pod to the dock seems to make the pod behave
(within the dock). In my case, this means that FM is difficult to use
without a second monitor which again affects some FM shortcuts.
So I think Adobe should look at this as a minor bug.

Hi all,
I have been searching for a topic on whether it is possible to change the
initial size of the Variables Pod in FM10, but not found it.
I find it rather annoying to have the pod open at the bottom of the page
every time taking up 20-25% of my document page. Is there a way to change
this
Your problem may just be what you say: "each chapter had the Format ?
Document ? Numbering (and Page) set properly."
The book update does not look for what each chapter file says about
numbering. You have to set it in the book (right-click each file reference

I always (FM10) print to ps and then distill. No problem.

Hi all you wonderful Framers!
I have not seen a discussion on this (it may have escaped me), but having

Great, Helen.
Another way of doing it might have been to create colors under the names of
the condition names: eOnly, Print1, etc. That way you would not have to
remember any color names or to which condition each color applied.

Hi Alison,
The European equivalent to Tabloid is A3 (297x420mm) which is 18mm
wider and 12mm shorter than the 11x17 Tabloid.
Hope this is of some help.

Hi Bill,
The most usual thing here, as most have suggested, is that a corrupt
graphic on or next to the problematic pages is causing this. However, as
the error message mentions Encoding, I would also look at the fonts on
these pages. Is there any text (or an entity for holding text) on these
