as long as you are changing this setting from within FrameMaker (and I
think this is what you are doing) the change is done only temporarily.
If you want to change the "Do not rely on system fonts" setting constantly

You need to set a custom job options file that specifically embeds these fonts

I don't know how Adobe has changed Frame, but maybe this would work?

Our testing (so far) indicates this is only an issue with SVG. So far we've
verified that Visio and JPG files do not cause a crash in FM 2017. We don't
have 2015 so I can't give you any information on that, sorry. :(

Historically, SaveAs PDF has been problematic.
Printing to the Acrobat logical printer has been more stable and predictable.

I try to avoid using PDF extensions in any browser. I'd much rather open

If you have Acrobat on the system, don't install Reader, and set
Chrome to use Acrobat to open PDFs.
That has nothing to do with Save as PDF.

I gave up on Save As PDF months ago when it was unreliable for tables. In
tables with alternate rows shaded, sometimes the text in the shaded rows is
obscured behind the shading. So we now mandate Print Book to PDF and all is

Do you get this effect with all files with such images?

What happens, if you select the other colour mode?
