play with the various settings but it works! Thanks for your help.
Here is the help page on the 'Line Layout' options (Format - Page Layout -

no - not that I know of anyway
There was maybe an hour from the time of the last successful build (2:11pm
Tuesday) and the first failed build. I was chugging through a series of 10

Thanks for your help Ed.
Yes, I am aware of this setting that tells Frame where to start the
paragraph style. I set only the most significant style (Heading 1 or
similar) to start on a new page, while subordinate styles (Heading 2 etc.)
can start anywhere.
My query was about automatically filling
Hi, John.
You can check the Windows Update history – will tell you when any Windows and
other Microsoft tools updates occurred. Assuming you have Windows set for
automatic updates – some will boot the machine though, so you would have seen
that event (!).
As I recall, the FrameMaker ones are n
Thanks to all for the pointers to building my own EDD using the manual
"Developing Structured Applications" (Structure_Dev_Guide.pdf) from Adobe.
Where can I go and find out more about what the structured
elements/attributes mean?
I've had no success with Adobe.com or the Framemaker 12 help p
Hi Theresa,
There should be information in either the Structured Application Developers
Guide or the Structured Application Developers Reference. HOWEVER, because
you are first starting out, I would shy away from applying formatting via

That depends on what DTD or schematic you are using. Since we use DOCBook, I
found that I got the best explanation of element usage from the ORielly Media
publication, DocBook-The definitive Guide.
There are other sources if information out there that are online.

Curses! Foiled again.
I narrowed down the window from 2:11pm, when the last successful book was
created, to 3:07pm when I was back at my desk editing an unrelated doc.
Within that window I saw there was some activity from MBAM.swissarmy.sys,
indicating an installation. I forgot that I had upgraded
Is there a place where I could look at some sample EDD files? I've been
able to locate some sample DTD files from w3schools.com but a similar
search for EDDs only finds employment in California!
Thanks,
Theresa

Check the structure applications in .. FrameMaker\Structure\XML\folders> .. you may see files that have an "edd" extension (or
