Hi Pete:
This may be adjusted in the "maker.ini" file within your FrameMaker install
folder. The maker.ini is a text file so you can easily open it in a tool
like Notepad and edit it.
By moving TEXT to the start of the line:

Hi Scott:
What type of engineers do you mean? Mechanical? Civil? Software? I have
worked with a lot of mechanical and civil engineers (when I was in
CAD/CAM/CAE). There are specific industry publications, and we have a bunch
lying around at the office that I could get you info from. Software

CUDSPAN used to have a "PrintTree" plug-in. I think I've still got it
somewhere on my machine! It was pretty cool, using indents to print the
whole structure tree for a doc. However, the CUDSPAN site has been down for
months and I don't think it is distributed any more.

Hello Framers:
Two of our clients are actively seeking Structured FrameMaker contractors

Hi Joel:
1. If you click in a text line, it goes blank because the text lines are not
attached to structure. Rather than using a text line or text frame, you
should keep everything connected in the structure. That means adding

Hi Jon:
You can create directly in FrameMaker as an EDD, then can save as a DTD.
(If you need a schema, you can turn a DTD into a schema using several
tools... My favorite is TurboXML:

Or, to create the DTD or schema you can use tools like Tur
Hi Anita:
Have you tried the telecable email address? I've cc'ed it here.
Last I heard, Chris had moved back to the US but was still active with his
CUDSPAN stuff. If you catch up with him and he has new contact info, I would
like to have it as well.
Take care,

Hi Lynne:
Good suggestion, but with the number of markers with long entries, having
them do find/replaces each time they regenerate would be a pain. They are
using XML and Structured Frame to automate processes, and having this
process break down is a serious glitch to them.
With FrameMaker's

Hi Bill:
Unfortunately, this is a FrameMaker quirk and I think it has been in the
last 3 releases. All xref markers go "poof" when you sort the table.
Unfortunately, the "fix" is to NOT do any sorting after you start placing
xrefs.
Russ or Scott, do you have any plug-ins that fix this?
