Hello,
I am trying to set-up a "lite" version of a FreeDos
bootable floppy, and I am a bit confused.
What I need is to boot to FreeDos with the Himem
and EMM386 drivers loaded, but my attempts fail and I can't seem to get extended
memory.
How do I go about creating a boot disk with just
Hi all,
I think most people should be happy with HIMEM now.
Most important use for FD*XMS* is the FDXMS286 for 286 based PCs.
As EMM386 does not run on a 286, no problem if FD*XMS* is not
compatible. Anyway, if you or I should get some free time and
enough couriosity, I can recommend to analyze th

as I said I'm not even sure if there'll be a new FD kernel release
or even basic CVS updates before July -- most of the components of my

When replying with your text quoted, I see it as 1 single long line.

I could go back to HTML style to get nice formatting, but then you'd have to fight off Eric Auer for me, so if you want to do the battle, let me know who wins and I'll change or not, accordingly. What I won't do is change away from using the world-standard multi-platform Eudora after ten+ years al

Hi I am testing the latest Beta of FreeDos9 on my PC:
ASUS P4C800E Deluxe with 1024 MB ram
with following Config.sys Menu Item 2:

How did you get the ISO onto the CD? Simply copying it (which is what I
confess I did the first time :) ) won't work. If you're using Nero to burn
CDs, rename the .iso to a .nrg, open it in Nero, and let it do the job. I
don't know much about how Easy CD Creator or Alcohol 120 works, nor do I
know
Sorry to be annoying you but can you help me. I want to install FreeDOS on my pc.
I've downloaded both the .iso and the .img. I tried booting from the cd but no joy. Is
the .iso bootable?
Using Rawrite2 I've created the fdos1440.img on a floppy which works but I can't seem
to be able to insta
