Xtree complains after a minute:
device: AUX, Cannot write data.
Dunno, would only make a horrible suggestion to use a different file
manager, e.g. DJGPP-built Ytree.
good hint, found FM which has exactly the same problems with JEMMEX as
BP has. Difference is, it does not run in any config.
Hi,
I would like to write a HOW-TO on USBDOS.
May I use the Freedos Wiki for doing so?
Or should I write somewhere else?

Hi Bret,
in short:
everyhing works now, and there weren't any real problems, one couldn't
solve by following a short how-to. Your drivers are great! :)
I removed the PCI USB2.0 adapter. Now there is only one hosts left.
Having a lot of hosts wasn't a problem, removing just made things more

Hi!
Two apps do not run using the first boot option JEMMEX:
- Borland Pascal 7
- Xtree Pro
Do both run if you do not load any EMM driver at all?
when using XMGR or no EMS/XMS at all they run both.
Xtree complains after a minute:

The problem with the double letters was solved by unloading KEYB.
DOS7-KEYB doesn't work yet, I believe it wants to have it's own
KEYBOARD.SYS file. USBKEYB typing methods didn't change anything.
Interesting. Usually, KEYB fixes things instead of
or the cursor keys.
I'll exchange the keyboard with my primary Cherry G80-1500 and see if
this error still occurs.

I'm sorry. I didn't read your email before writing to the list again.

I made both, the keyboard and the mouse work once, but not stable yet.

Hi,
some of you may remember: I tried 1.0 a long time ago, and failed.
Now I successfuly installed 1.1 and it runs fine. Thanks ;)

Hi,
let's continue where I stopped a year ago. ;)
I tried fdupdate to update my 1.1 installation.
But, the DOS PC is still offline. I don't have a spare network cable. Is
there any way to tell fdupdate/fdpkg where to find the files locally?
I believe there are a lot of packages that are not
Hi,
Since I switch HIDs between two PCs using an USB switch, I would be

I tried Bret J.'s USB driver. USBUHCI loads, but complains about legacy
USB mode. Do I have to switch off legacy in BIOS?
after the driver is loaded, the keyboard does not work any more.

The must-attend event
manager, you may invoke after
successfull installation? In this case, I might try a minimal
installation, and install the other packages in several iterations...
thank you very much :)

config?
AMD PCNET or NE2000 likely, maybe the Intel card. I haven't got much
experience with VirtualBox, sorry.
I found a lot of docs on network. I start with Barts network bootdisk
now, to find a working driver. after that, I check Freedos networking again.

On Oracle VirtualBox it works, but takes a long time searching the IDE
bus. (did not attach a harddrive)
Now these problems are documented and the drive is formatted, I will try
the old installer CD again.

ps. I made
continue with debian install...
Thanks for all that help!
