It seems to me that if you are using SloppyFocus or MouseFocus,
you want the focus to follow the mouse pointer.
Thats what it does.
The "Next [*] Focus" command violates that rule, but unclutter fixes
it up. If you want to focus on a new window with either of these
focus models,

aps the application needs 8 bit color and you are using 24?
I think the issue you have with fvwm hanging is separate. Are
you using fvwm session management? I don't use it myself, so
I don't have any experience with it. If you have fvwm hanging,
if you can log in from another machine

I feel dumb. I was looking at ld options. LDFLAGS seems t
Our INSTALL.fvwm file suggests that the user should export LDFLAGS
on Solaris (for example). The Solaris man pages for Solaris 2.6 and
2.8 identify LD_OPTIONS as the right variable.
HPUX11.11 uses LDOPTS. AIX 4.3 doesn't seem to have anything.
Anyone know where LDFLAGS works?
