Well, I certainly know where to get a spare xp install cd if I need
one, my mum has one and apparently my friend who's a software designer
can get them easily from his work.
thanks for the advise about Ie Tristan, but my main concern is the
system restore business.

Not a problem.
You also might want to try a registry error fixer. Probably won't work
though.
Download Registry XP from the JFWLite homepage:
http://jfwlite.com/programs/
and download the CCleaner cleaning tool, to use registry just open up the
program and hit enter on the registry button.
One problem with MacOSX is that their aren't as large a population of games
for the operating system :-p. The thing that is holding me back really is
an accessible well-working MUD client.

well Tom, on the one hand, I was hoping for an original rpg game from you,
rather than simply a more streamlined version of gamebooks I've already
played.
On the other hand, there's no denying it would be welcome and possibly
easier for people to start off with the series.
As far as the
Couldn't agree more.
Also come now, macs are catching up in terms of security threats, so you
can't say your mac is foolproof any more.
And finally, have you seen windows seven? A lot of people like it a lot more
than vista and mac both.

Hi,
Yep, I for one love your games. FUn to play on the way home from school, or
when I'm waiting for class, I always have to see if I can shoot down one
more plane in puppy 1 or beat my time in malk 1. I still have to get a
controller for malk 1 tts.

Hi William,
Well, that was true until the release of Windows 7. So far I've found
Windows 7 is an extremely impressive Windows release. It is easily as
good as Mac OS in terms of stability, reliability, and performance.
Almost all of the major problems we saw with Vista such as driver
Hi Dark,
Well, your problem isn't multiple user accounts. I use several on my
systems with out issue. The root and source of your problems is the
Windows registry. Which, as it happens, is one of the major problems
with Windows in general.
One major feature that sets Windows apart from
Hi Tristan,
Ummm...There are accessible mud clients for Mac OS. One that comes to
mind is called Zoom. Plus you can use the default Mac OS telnet client
in a pinch.

Hi,
No operating system is full proof. Mac OS and Linux both have frequent
security updates, and security is often what you make it. Even Windows
can be fairly secure provided the end user running it is remotely
security concious and compitent. If not he or she is likely at faultfor

Hi,
yes, I also don't like that with the registry in Windows. Also you can like
cheat, and also, crack games. With Mac its not that easy, when it comes down
to cracking games.

I really can't wait until I can update this laptop right here with windows
seven. It'll make it run more faster and stuff like that. Also the system
requirements are not gonna be that high for games like mota and stuff, well,
not as high as they gonna be for windows vista at the moment.
Hi,
True enough. I've actually got plans to revamp the Genesis engine to
have better Windows 7 support by using .NET Framework 4.0, which comes
with Windows 7, as well as swap DirectSound for XAudio2 via SlimDX.
That's a fairly big upgrade, but when I do my games will be fully
Windows 7
Hi,
Well, the registry is one of Microsoft's biggest mistakes. If you lose
the registry you pretty much lose the entire ball of wax. With Linux
every program, including the operating system, stores settings in *.conf
files. As long as you make a back up of the conf file in question before
Hi Dark,
To be honest I hope to make my own RPG anyway. This was just a thought
given the fact there is already an existing game book system out there,
but it is largely unaccessible unless you want to play the game
manually. Given the amount of content it would take a long time to
create,
Hi, and possibly this has been answered before, but I'm not sure. I was
using the original version that first came out of the Entoomed game which I
had no problems with at all. Then, I seen there was a later version, 9.5 and
I downloaded it and installed it and now I'm getting error messages
Hi tom.
well, playing the game manually isn't actually too bad. The pages are all
linked html so you only have to click on the link for the choice you want,
combat is fairly easy to run, and keeping an ms word document open to keep
track of stats and items isn't exactly the end of the earth.
yeah tom I hate the registry.
In old dos days you couldn't really screw the system.
even if you mangled your autoexec and config files you could in later versions
6x and over be able to bypass those and boot into a bare system, ofcause
windows is a bit more complex than that.

hello gamers.
yesterday, i was looking the information on a game called dwarf fortrez.
it is not accessible. but i decided to go in to the developers page, and
found some more games. some of then are text games, with only a few
characters, that make the map of the game.
i was very interested in a
The thing is, though, mud clients for the mac isn't used as much;
soundpacks, for example, are lacking.
I would really like one, I could still use windows on it.
