Hi Damien, Louis and Thomas,
Thank you for understanding why I would not want my name on a game that I did
not code etc.

Hi Louis,
A long time ago I did buy a few of the low priced sound effect CDs, and I have
been collecting sound files since I first got on a BBS back in 1990. Plus I do
record or make some of the sounds for my games. But most recently some of the
sounds that I have used in games such as
most of my sounds are from the web, www.therecordest.com
www.findsounds.com.
Some of them I get from sighted game disks, I have about 5 10 dollar cds and
anobher copple recorded by friends.
I also have tapes of a disk but no way to transfer em anywhere.
Some I have from friend's private servers,
from BrailleSoft, INC. That's only fair, and I am a bruitally
honest guy. HTH.

Hi Louis,
The thing is, my name should not be on a game that is not mine. That is
if I did not produce it or you did not port the game directly from my
code, the game is not mine and should not carry my name. Can you
Hi Damien,
Oh, I have to agree with Jim here. If someone writes a clone of Puppy1,
Mach1, Homer, whatever Jim didn't actually write that port or clone so

with the clone. On the other hand I do understand Louis's point by

but it is my opinion that blind gaming in general for the present time will

Hi Shaun,
Well, no application is 100% future proofed. It really all depends on
how much you are willing to make sure your source code, language
specifications, and supporting APIs stay as up to date as possible.
For example, VB.NET has been around since 2002, and I still see plenty

Hi. I actually ported Chopper Challenge to VB.net with no problems, of
course you have to do something like this from scratch, and it is
available
for the PPC and a beta is available for the Windows Mobile Smartphone. I
Hi Damien!
Why do you use TCP?
That is the slowlyst protocol!
I would recommend using UDP or directplay.

Yeah, I would also go with DirectPlay. But the problem is that it is

Hi Claudio,
First of all, TCIP is the standard internet protocol used by every
networking programmer in the world. Just about every game I know of,
including those using DirectPlay, uses TCIP connections.
Second of all, DirectPlay is not an internet protocol. It is an out

Hi,
I don't think so. DirectPlay is a very very old technology. I don't know
how many folks on this list keep up to date with what is going on in the
Windows technology world, but DirectPlay was officially dropped by
Microsoft in November 2007. That was almost a year ago when DirectPlay

Hi Thomas!
Thanks in advance for klariving these things...
I've read just in a book that TCP is usefull for E-Mails, FTP-Clients but
not for multyplayer games.
Best regards,
Claudio.

Hi Damien,
Actually, I was asking if you used the standard Winsock API or if you
were using something like DirectPlay. In any case Lewis answered my
question, because he said he is writing the PM version in Basic4PPC.

That makes sense. I'm not sure how well this would apply to the CF

programming API. The code I tested works very well with both
