The only issue I have with doing the game that way is the possability of
having to design a mini story for every single mission.

Hi Allan,
Well, one way of looking at it if you failed to destroy the secret base
the logical explanation would be you got the crap kicked out of you and
you are space dust. Not only would it effect the future of the war you
won't be in it in the next mission. Smile.

Or if you have to flee. That would be nice.

Hi Allan,
Hmmm... interesting idea. So some missions might have time limits on
them. Kind of like GTC sector 3 if you don't hit the train fast enough
game over. In this case if you don't find ship x, base x, in a specified
amount of time you might be able to go on to the next mission, but you
PS
Just remembered since one of my missions involves intercepting a
Federation ship stolen by founders if you failed to catch it before it
went in to enemy space hypathetically in following missions
Cardassians, Breen, and Jem'hadar ships might have better hardware
like quantum torpedoes

Hi Ken,
Yeah, I know what you are getting at. However, I think I have already
decided what format the game will take and how it is going to operate.
Smile.

Hi Allan,
True. One of the nice things about Trek has always been that it has been
flexable enough to take in all kinds of odd storylines and somehow they
sometimes become cannon. For example, the mirror universe and
alternative histories that come up in books and shows. Heck, I read a

Hi all,
I've been reviewing all the possabilities for the storyline for this
game as well as potential enemies, starships, you name it and based on
some recommendations it seams logical that this game be based on the
Dominion War as some have suggested. Sorry, I don't remember who

Hi,
I find the dominion war to be the darkest side of Star Trek and you were
fighting very limited enemies. I'd prefer something more based on tng and
the films, with a more general time frame and all sorts of missions
personally. Anyway, I think they are two different projects and I'd
Hi,
Yeah, the Dominion War was certainly a dark time for the Federation.
While DS9 was on I actually got tired of hearing about the war show
after show as they drug it out, but on the other hand game wize the
story is already written. Just fill in the info for the mission.
If we did a more TNG
Oh yeah.

Hi Allan,
If it is the Dominion war the Ferengi, Romulans, and Klingons are allies
of the Federation. There is little room or reason to be fighting with
them under that time period and story line.
That of course leaves open what about the Borg, and they did attack the
Federation last just prier
Hi,
It most certainly will not be a First Person Shooter. That is a genre
and style like Shades of Doom. My Trek game is going to fall in to the
real time strategy and simulation catagory like Tank Commander for example.
