Hi all.
this is a cross posted message.
if  you are on a list other than ones I have posteed to pass it on.
this message is to all devs and those I test with including pkb group.
due to a few gripes, 2 dotnet issues which I got into and which are
disrupting things, and the fact that I have had other issues for the last 5
years of running this system I will be shutting down the system for a week
of system rebuilding.
Obviously I won't be online for that week though I will try to get up to
speed as quick as I can.

For all the nosy parkers that will ask me what I have done and where I have
gone to.
I have had the system for 6 years aprox now and mostly have not had any real
issue.
however sapi issues though fixed, dotnet ones due to me fiddling with setup
programs that seem to be bungish and a couple of stupid attempts on that end
errors with old and new recording software, and general cleaning, I have
decided to go through the rather long and visual process of reformatting,
selectively installing   and doing a reconfig of my system.
for those that are on or are reading my casts on technology.jaredrimer.net I
will be making several podcasts as I recover with tips and such.
These casts will be uploaded as soon as I am online.
as long as I have no real issue that is, I should be ready to rock   within
a few days.
ofcause things can happen but if you are really nosy I will post something
within a week.
Its probably gona take less time but I'll have a backlog of stuff which I
must clear to get sorted.
if all things go well I will be up within 3-4 days but I won't be online
till that week has passed.
I have backed up all critical files today including my dropbox archive.
for those that want to contact me unless urgent contact me next week.
if you must contact via mail I will get at your stuff as soon as I can.
if you know how then directly you can access me with the propper info but
that probably does not apply with anyone on the lists.

There is no ml-works.net. It doesn't exist. There is however,
m.l-works.net, the mobile subdomain of L-Works. Anyway, the L-Works
website is definitely infected. It is not those cab files, it is a script
src tag for malicious JavaScript code. I took a quick look at the
JavaScript code. It basically checks for a cookie, and if not in existence,
will redirect you to that malicious website. (suitcase52td dot net). If you
are using an anti-virus program that blocks the trojan horse from being
downloaded (I use Avast), and you refresh the page, you should no longer be
getting notifications from your anti-virus software, because of the cookie
being added.

I know for a fact Liam uses BlueHost. I'm going to guess someone cracked a
password, and added a script src tag to his webpages.
Removing this script src tag should fix the problem.

[Audyssey] Duck hunt 1.2

Hi gamers.  I've just released Duck hunt version 1.2 on l-works.net.
The new version uses streemway for audio, and also lets you use j and l as
for arrow keys.  The game also includes the talking installer.
Also.  I've gotten reports about L-works.net being compromised with spyware.
I've worked as quickly as possible to neutralize this problem, but if anyone
has any issues. please let me know immedietly.

Zcode is another term for the games created by the inform compiler. They
usually end with Z5 or Z8 (though I've seen Z3 a couple of times) and they
don't have audio. If you want an audio game written in inform, I suggest
glulks.

Oh, yeah. That doesn't make any sense to me either.  You can
definitely complete the game in a lot less moves than 1,060.

Hi Dark, I managed to get the Terraformas game key, but I can't seem to get 
further than the outside area with the singing flower and 3 tone wheels, I 
think I might have missed a key somewhere.  Any ideas?  Thanks from Lori.

Hello Gamers,
After a solid month of testing and development Tomb Hunter Mysteries
of the Ancients beta 12 is now ready for public testing. Below is a
number of changes and updates available in the new beta. Please,
remember to uninstall any older releases before installing beta 12.

What's New

Removed delay when opening doors/statues.
The left/right control keys now work with the speak potions, speak
torchs, and speak weapon info commands.
Fixed bug with losing air when waiding through the water in room 8.
Fixed bug with using multiple healing potions.
Now, releases the keyboard when the game window is not in focus.
Updated sound descriptions menu.
Replaced FMOD EX with PB streemway for audio support.
Fixed bug with audio panning.
Improved audio output.
Improved resource management.
Added player comments.
Added new game intro cutscene.
Added a leather bull whip to the game.
Fixed a major memory leak caused by closing game sounds incorrectly.
Added large chasm sound.
Now, the view command identifies weather a chasm is small or large.
Fixed the crash dialog on exit.
Fixed some compatability issues with 64 byt versions of XP/Vista/Windows 7.
Replaced standard C++ random generator with the Mersenne Twister
random generator.

captain Harry Potter was  an Ogre Fighter who  Threw a Spear so erratically
at the Best of Throws competition that it Struck Down the Duke who was
watching from the stands. captain Harry Potter's party wandered the
dungeon's halls for 1 year, 3 months , 7 days  before somehow escaping to
the lower floors. Against all odds, everyone in captain Harry Potter's party
survived the ordeal!  Notable Exploits: 3 quests completed. Rescued a
Half-Orc Necromancer on the 2nd floor. Defended a town's gates from sure
breach.Rescued a Ratkin Shaman on the 5th floor. Cleared the menace guarding
the Old Mine-Works. Defeated  a Drake! Handled a total of 910 gold coins
and finished with a stash of 734 still left over.  Score: 1223

attack a monster, I don't really have any chance to attack. Because look

I think it's fine as is. Not to be rude or anything but please, Muhamed, cut 
Thomas some slack for the love of Bob! He's been working on this project, 
which wasn't even his to begin with, for four years and it's caused him a 
great deal of aggravation. What we should really be doing is thanking him 
for the time and effort he's put into the game despite all the setbacks and, 
most importantly, easing up on him more than a bit now that things seem to 
be going reasonably well for him and we could see a final release possibly 
before the end of the summer.

That would be Tammy Berlay. Not sure of the spelling of her last name
off hand, but  she is doing all of the cutscenes, voice acting, and
eventually will be doing the menus etc.

of the Ancients beta 12 is now ready for public testing. Below is a

torchs, and speak weapon info commands.

Updated sound descriptions menu.
Replaced FMOD EX with PB streemway for audio support.
Fixed bug with audio panning.

Fixed a major memory leak caused by closing game sounds incorrectly.

Hi,
Not only ducking but you can also jump over fireballs, arrows, and
lightning bolts as well if you are quick about it.  Remember also if
you duck eventually the enemy will correct his/her aim and shoot you
so it isn't a full proof solution.

Hi Muhammed,
First, it might help to know what difficulty level you are playing on.
Most people find beginner easy, which generally is fairly easy after
you play the game a while, and expert  can be extremely difficult. So
it would help to know the difficulty level you selected.
Second, beta 12 has gone through almost a month of private testing and
debugging and the testers seamed to feel the game was good enough as
is.  So I am satisfied that the game is pretty much balanced as far as
hitpoint damage and combat goes. Remember it was never meant to be a
simple or easy game you can complete in five minutes.

I think it's fine as is. Not to be rude or anything but please, Muhamed, cut
Thomas some slack for the love of Bob! He's been working on this project,
which wasn't even his to begin with, for four years and it's caused him a
great deal of aggravation. What we should really be doing is thanking him
for the time and effort he's put into the game despite all the setbacks and,
most importantly, easing up on him more than a bit now that things seem to
be going reasonably well for him and we could see a final release possibly
before the end of the summer.

Not only ducking but you can also jump over fireballs, arrows, and
lightning bolts as well if you are quick about it.  Remember also if
you duck eventually the enemy will correct his/her aim and shoot you
so it isn't a full proof solution.

You must've missed my point.  I'll put it this way:  How long had you been 
working at the demo before you asked for help?  Not even one day.  A lot of 
gamers want the easy solutions, some of them even before their game has been 
registered.  The games are made so as to not be too easy.  They are supposed 
to be a challenge for you to beat, increasing their replay value.  If I 
could beat it the first or second time I played, where would be the replay 
value?

After a solid month of testing and development Tomb Hunter Mysteries
of the Ancients beta 12 is now ready for public testing. Below is a

Removed delay when opening doors/statues.
The left/right control keys now work with the speak potions, speak
torchs, and speak weapon info commands.
Fixed bug with losing air when waiding through the water in room 8.

Now, releases the keyboard when the game window is not in focus.
Updated sound descriptions menu.
Replaced FMOD EX with PB streemway for audio support.
Fixed bug with audio panning.

After a solid month of testing and development Tomb Hunter Mysteries
of the Ancients beta 12 is now ready for public testing. Below is a
number of changes and updates available in the new beta. Please,
remember to uninstall any older releases before installing beta 12.

What's New

Removed delay when opening doors/statues.
The left/right control keys now work with the speak potions, speak
torchs, and speak weapon info commands.
Fixed bug with losing air when waiding through the water in room 8.
Fixed bug with using multiple healing potions.
Now, releases the keyboard when the game window is not in focus.
Updated sound descriptions menu.
Replaced FMOD EX with PB streemway for audio support.
Fixed bug with audio panning.
Improved audio output.
Improved resource management.
Added player comments.
Added new game intro cutscene.
Added a leather bull whip to the game.
Fixed a major memory leak caused by closing game sounds incorrectly.
Added large chasm sound.
Now, the view command identifies weather a chasm is small or large.
Fixed the crash dialog on exit.
Fixed some compatability issues with 64 byt versions of XP/Vista/Windows 
7.

Replaced standard C++ random generator with the Mersenne Twister
random generator.

That would be Tammy Berlay. Not sure of the spelling of her last name
off hand, but  she is doing all of the cutscenes, voice acting, and

lightning bolts as well if you are quick about it.  Remember also if
you duck eventually the enemy will correct his/her aim and shoot you
so it isn't a full proof solution.

Hi Brian, I know what you mean but I think it depends on what time of mood 
the player is in, sometimes of I'm playing a game like Tank Commander I'll 
employ a few cheats and let mines do the work.  Sorry about the mention of

 lightning bolts as well if you are quick about it.  Remember also if
 you duck eventually the enemy will correct his/her aim and shoot you

Thomas some slack for the love of Bob! He's been working on this project, 
which wasn't even his to begin with, for four years and it's caused him a 
great deal of aggravation. What we should really be doing is thanking him 
for the time and effort he's put into the game despite all the setbacks and,

be going reasonably well for him and we could see a final release possibly

It's hardly our business to say whether it's fun to play, since I have no
idea what game genre you like. Anyway, here's some background information.
Parasites have highly intelligentized over the years, and have taken over
most of the worlds plant, animal, and human population. It's your job as the

Not only ducking but you can also jump over fireballs, arrows, and
lightning bolts as well if you are quick about it.  Remember also if
you duck eventually the enemy will correct his/her aim and shoot you
so it isn't a full proof solution.

of the Ancients beta 12 is now ready for public testing. Below is a
number of changes and updates available in the new beta. Please,
remember to uninstall any older releases before installing beta 12.

What's New

Removed delay when opening doors/statues.
The left/right control keys now work with the speak potions, speak
torchs, and speak weapon info commands.
Fixed bug with losing air when waiding through the water in room 8.
Fixed bug with using multiple healing potions.
Now, releases the keyboard when the game window is not in focus.
Updated sound descriptions menu.
Replaced FMOD EX with PB streemway for audio support.
Fixed bug with audio panning.
Improved audio output.
Improved resource management.
Added player comments.
Added new game intro cutscene.
Added a leather bull whip to the game.
Fixed a major memory leak caused by closing game sounds incorrectly.
Added large chasm sound.
Now, the view command identifies weather a chasm is small or large.
Fixed the crash dialog on exit.
Fixed some compatability issues with 64 byt versions of
XP/Vista/Windows 7.
Replaced standard C++ random generator with the Mersenne Twister

There's always troopanum, which can be found at BSCGames website:
http://www.bscgames.com. There's also a space invaders remake that Phillip
made several years ago by the name of Dark Destroyer; you can go to Thomas's
site, and to the free games page, and find that one, as well as several
others Phillip developed. As for westerns...not much there. The only thing I
can think of is Grisley Gulch Western Extrabiganza, made by Bavisoft.
Unfortunately, you have to buy it. You also have to buy troopanum 1 and 2,
but they're good.
