Hi Yohandy, Ok, I really feel stupid. Lol! I just found said check box on my new laptop and turned the Welcome Center off, but when I installed Vista on my old laptop I searched all over for a check box and couldn't find one so I disabled it through the registry. I wonder how I missed it before.

Hi Ari, No. FreeTTS only works with Java based applications. FreeTTS is written in pure Java, and is totally operating system independent. It doesn't use any operating specific APIs such as the Microsoft Sapi 5 API for Windows. Which fits with Sun's build once run anywhere philosophy. ari wrot
