Re: [Audyssey] Bowling

2009-01-08 Thread Jim Kitchen

Hi Charles,

That sounds like a pretty good average you have.

I still have a championship trophy etc from back when I was on a league. But
that was so long ago that it was back when I was still sighted. I always aimed
for the second arrow in from the right gutter for my first ball. I just
thought that a beeping something in the right gutter at the foul line might
give me an aiming target.

Re: [Audyssey] pong

2009-01-08 Thread Jim Kitchen

Hi DJC,

Yeah, I tried to slow the response down a bit with the joystick in Pong so as
to make it the same as the keyboard. Guess I didn't quite get it.

I really like a joystick or game controller. To me it makes the games seem
more like a video game rather than a computer game. Guess just because of
using a stick and buttons rather than the keyboard.

Re: [Audyssey] Bowling

2009-01-08 Thread Jim Kitchen

Hi Phil,

Talking pins eh? Now that sounds like you are talking about the elf bowling
video game. Too bad it isn't accessible. It is entertaining.

Truthfully I never aimed at the pins. They are a too far away target. Always
aimed at the arrows on the lane.

Re: [Audyssey] Game Controler

2009-01-08 Thread Jim Kitchen

Hi DJC,

Yeah, I can still score better in Puppy 1 with the keyboard in expert, but
about the same with a joystick in beginner or experienced. It does take some
getting used to, but I like it.

Thanks for letting me know that it works perfectly with your new controller.

Hi,
Have you downloaded the latest setup file? Also, do you have the

They are included with some games, but I'm not sure which.

some games.
and this is why i'm interested in the nintendo wii.
but it didn't will worth i buying a videogame like wii for example, if

Eliminate the wii, is my opinion. There doesn't seem to be too many
accessible games on it, and the xbox360 and ps3 have a lot of them. If you
want to manage online stuff for xbox then you can do it on the web.. but the

Re: [Audyssey] wii, xbox 360 or ps3?

2009-01-08 Thread Bryan Peterson
I've actually found quite a few games on the Wii to be accessible. They
weren't toally accessible but they were still playable. I'd get a Wii sooner
than I'd get an XBox. I've still got the original Nintendo my grandparents
got me nearly twenty years ago and it still works if that tells you
anything. Also, there are a lot of titles for the Wii that interest me and
none at all for the Xbox or the PS3. I also see myself being able to afford
a Wii faster than either of the other two. Granted this is just my opinion
but it's how I feel.

a yes bryan.
you are right, the wii is much cheaper than the xbox 360, i'm not sure
what of then i'll get, i might do a good search to compare what games i
like and what of then are accessible, and see.
for example, on the xbox, the first games that i certain will get is
dragon ball burst limits, gta iv, mk vs dc,... i don't know many others.
and for the wii, i just see someone playing the wii sports, and now i
read about a fishing game that might be accessible and good tow, i
played one in the ps 1 that i realy liked, and there might be more good
fighting games for it, i'll search it now.

Eliminate the wii, is my opinion. There doesn't seem to be too many
accessible games on it, and the xbox360 and ps3 have a lot of them. If you
want to manage online stuff for xbox then you can do it on the web.. but
the psn doesn't have that option. So it really comes down to a matter of
 personal preference.

 hey all.
 i'm just curious.
in this year, i'm interested in getting one of these videogames, and
someone that played all of then, or peraps one or two of then can give
 me the best option?
i'm realy interested in getting a nintendo wii bekause the different
style of gameplay. but in other hand, i don't know if there are many
 accessible games for it.
well, for the ps3 and xbox 360, i can think in getting then, but they
are h, just the same as the others, just with a much better sound in
 some games.
and this is why i'm interested in the nintendo wii.
but it didn't will worth i buying a videogame like wii for example, if
there are not much accessible games, lets say for example, if i'm going
to buy it for like, 3 or 4 games.
so, anyone can give me help in that accessibility question?
thanks awreade for the help and best regards,
 Matheus

Exactly. Just the fact that the Wii uses a different controller from what
we're used to doesn't mean we couldn't use it. And this is coming from
someone who used to say the exact same as you. I have a lot more faith that
we can find accessible Wii games (in fact some members of this community
already have), than either the PS3 or the Xbox.

I'll have to try Tennis next time I visit my folks. I just know that I
soundly defeated my brother, dad and sister-in-law in several games of Wii
Sports Bowling, once nearly bowling a perfect game. Didn't do too hot in

Re: [Audyssey] wii, xbox 360 or ps3?

2009-01-08 Thread Constantine
Iether xbox or nintendo, in my oppinion. The ps3 is wicked expensive. Just
my thoughts, too. Granted I still have a ps1 (with a mod chip in it, I
unknowingly bought it used with one) that I bought about 8 years ago. Been
played quite a lot. Nintendo 64 lying around here too that I still whip out
from time to time. I'm not much of a mainstream gamer, sadly, because I
can't afford all the new things that come out. If I went and bought
something now, something new would come out next year.

I've actually found quite a few games on the Wii to be accessible. They
weren't toally accessible but they were still playable. I'd get a Wii
sooner

than I'd get an XBox. I've still got the original Nintendo my grandparents
got me nearly twenty years ago and it still works if that tells you
anything. Also, there are a lot of titles for the Wii that interest me and
none at all for the Xbox or the PS3. I also see myself being able to
afford

a Wii faster than either of the other two. Granted this is just my opinion
but it's how I feel.

hey all.
i'm just curious.
in this year, i'm interested in getting one of these videogames, and
someone that played all of then, or peraps one or two of then can give
me the best option?
i'm realy interested in getting a nintendo wii bekause the different
style of gameplay. but in other hand, i don't know if there are many
accessible games for it.
well, for the ps3 and xbox 360, i can think in getting then, but they
are h, just the same as the others, just with a much better sound in
some games.
and this is why i'm interested in the nintendo wii.
but it didn't will worth i buying a videogame like wii for example, if
there are not much accessible games, lets say for example, if i'm going
to buy it for like, 3 or 4 games.
so, anyone can give me help in that accessibility question?
thanks awreade for the help and best regards,
Matheus

Re: [Audyssey] wii, xbox 360 or ps3?

2009-01-08 Thread Clement Chou
I appologize... that was a bit of an unfair statement, on my behalf. Like I
said, I don't find the wii that bad... it just doesn't have my style, I
guess. I got a ps3 for the ability to play friends online at Soul Calibur
IV, MK versus DCU, DBZ burst limit, rock band, rock band 2, etc. Although
both rock band games are also for the wii, I believe online play in the
first game was disabled, or something. But everyone has their own tastes. To
be honest, there's something about each of the three consoles that I like a
lot.

Hi Ari!

Thanks for the info.

TextSL is written by Eelke Folmer, one of the guys we were chatting to
during our project. He gave us an alpha version of his code in Summer last
year, but it was pretty basic. It'll be interesting to see how far he's
progressed since then.

Hi all!
I have found a projekt that is very interesting.
It is a program that will allow you to use second life with jaws.
The program is in it's beta, but you can download the beta already.
The projekt is under the gnu license, so any developer who is interested
can work at it.

Please note that this software does only work with jaws.
To read more and download it, go to the following page:
http://www.textsl.org/
Good luck,
Claudio.
