Re: [Audyssey] Kitchen Sink,
Hi Shaun, The reason I don't create the games mentioned in Phil's Funnies, is, time, time, time. I wrote that one in about five minutes and although it would be easy to create the sound effects it would take much longer to create a game of doing dishes. But since there is no copyright on a dish washing game, anyone who is interested in the idea can create it. Re: [Audyssey] Mach 1 tts
Dark I think it was mentioned changing it back from a crowd to the wall echo sounds. That would be my personal preference as well. I was pretty darned good at mach1, but I can't play this version at all. A choice would be really cool because we could have the best of both worlds. It does not pan as you are sitting in your car. You can play Mach 1 tts ok even if you can not hear your car engine. Just shift up at 75, 125 and 175. May I ask, does anyone else have a problem with the engine being too quiet? I really didn't want it too loud as the other sounds are more important to listen to for locational purposes. It does get read in safe areas where the word "safe" appears at the start, which makes me think it's something to do with the line being surrounded with a less than and greater than sign. [Audyssey] Kitchen Sink,
Games we'd like to play, Kitchen Sink, by Phil Vlasak In this fast action game, you Are Jim, a daring dish washer, willing to risk everything to clean his sink of dirty dishes. His mission will not be an easy one. He must face several disgusting items, such as plates covered with week old Pizza slices, burnt oatmeal bowls, and skillets with baked on hamburger grease. He must avoid such deadly traps as pots of boiling donut oil, towering stove fires, sharp metal corn on the cob spikes, deep crud lined coffee pots, and containers filled with rotten chicken livers. He will have to pick up each dirty dish, then using the left and right control keys, scrub it with a steel wool pad, then rinse it under water and stack each neatly in the drainer. He will also discover dropped egg shells and coffee grounds, and putrid egg salad sandwiches left behind the couch by previous guests. If Jim makes it through the whole stack of dishes, he must face his greatest challenge. Washing his stack of dirty clothes by hand. --- Gamers mailing list __ Gamers@audyssey.org If you want to leave the list, send E-mail to gamers-unsubscr...@audyssey.org. Re: [Audyssey] joysticks?
Hi Josh, Most joysticks and game controllers get their power through your USB port. The only ones that need badderies is wireless devices. Re: [Audyssey] Amazon.com: Saitek ST90 Joystick: Electronics?
Hi Josh, While there is hundreds of different game controllers from joysticks to racing wheels in various shapes, sizes, and configurations all of them do meet very strict design guidelines. What I am saying is they all meet certain standard specifications that DirectX, SDL, JInput, and other input libraries use to interface with the device. If the game controller is Windows and DirectX compatible then it will work with any game for Windows and that uses DirectX and probably JInput and SDL as well since they all use the same input standards and device drivers. Does that make sense? Josh wrote: Hi, would the joystick: Amazon.com: Saitek ST90 Joystick: Electronics work with all of the audio games that have joystick support? and this joystick, if it is compatible with jim's games GMA games and three-d velocity is not bad it's only $20. I will check out the rumble-pads next... Re: [Audyssey] joysticks steering-wheels and gas-pedals for the computer?
Hi Josh, You can buy joysticks just about anywhere computer peripherals are sold from Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Amazon.com, etc. Though I'd say an online web store like Amazon probably has the best selection. As far as pricing goes they range from dirt cheap, about $15 USD, to rather expensive, $150 USD. As always quality and features is a factor in choosing between a $15 model and a $150 model. Josh wrote: Hi, Where do you get various joysticks and steering-wheels for the computer to play games and how much are they? Do they plug into USB? Is it easier to play some games with a joystick? Re: [Audyssey] Logitech Attack 3 Joystick
Hi Josh, I do not have a Logitech Attack 3 Joystick, but both of the joysticks that I have work on all of the games that say that they have joystick support, so I don't see why the Logitech Attack 3 Joystick wouldn't work as well. [Audyssey] Homer on a Harley
Hi Charles, I don't think that I will be adding joystick support to Homer on a Harley either. Guess that it would be nice for the steering, but the whole idea of Homer on a Harley is that you must use the control key to get to the correct speed to jump over the busses. Having a joystick throttle that you could hold in a certain position would just make it all too easy. Re: [Audyssey] Vip mud sapi problem
hi dark, You can create a trigger for this that will process this line and either automatically read it to you when it is updated, or allow you to hit a key to get the info, such as f5 or whatever. VIPMud is pretty easy regarding coding these things, and the documentation walks you through how to do it. Ryan and I have done a lot of odifications to the scripts for Lusternia, and it makes playing any mud way more enjoyable. good luck, che - Original Message - From: "dark" To: Sent: Wednesday, May 27, 2009 12:00 AM Subject: [Audyssey] Vip mud sapi problem Hi. I was wondering if someone could please help with this, I've asked everywhere else, including on the vip mud list and with a direct E-mail to david greenwood, but haven't got any replies as yet. Using sapi in materia magica everything is okay accept for one thing. When reading the screen with up and down arrows, Sapi refuses to read the status line showing hp, mp and st (staminer). You can read it with left and right arrows, - and the line is deffinately there sinse I've checked it using Hal, it's just that when reading in coming text, the line doesn't get read - which keeps getting me killed in battles sinse I don't know how damaged I'm getting. It does get read in safe areas where the word "safe" appears at the start, which makes me think it's something to do with the line being surrounded with a less than and greater than sign. Any advice would be much appreciated sinse this is rather frustrating. For a direct comparison here's a cut and paste of the line, - though obviously the values vary (I used Hal). <97hp 94sp 164st> Any advice would be much appreciated. Beware the Grue!
