[Audyssey] the list status

2010-04-27 Thread Raul A. Gallegos
Hello everyone. Just letting you know that things should be back up and
running fine now. I apologize for the inconvenience. There was a problem
with one of the ultrahost.us servers this weekend and unfortunately the
server had to be rebuilt. Luckily none of the account settings were lost
and so everyone who is supposed to be here, is. This is one of those
unforeseen things which we didn't have control over. If you have any
questions about the outage, please email gamers-ow...@audyssey.org, not
this list.

Many thanks.

Hi Josh and all,
The list's server went down over the weekend. At this time we are
doing all we can to get the web site and mailing list back up and
running.

Cheers!

Mikle, all they have to do is share keys around or create reg files to
crack games. Maybe or wurser, they create a regerstation file of the
games regerstation. Even more eseier, what they also could do is just
make a new exe file of the game, then what happens is they paste the
original file in to the prodact's diricktory. I'm not going to offend
anyone though, but hopefully its not anyone on this list, I bet new

hey brian. how in the world can you hack a audio game? one of the
reason i mention this is because i have not still got my key for
treasure hunt.
here
the thing when i paid for the game it sent me a email saying that it
wants to confirm that i'm a real human. so i confirm it. but i have
not got any thing back with my key. the other reason i mention this
on the list is because some have said that i should look on the
different sites for updates. but on some sites you can't find them.
for exsample you find the update of entombed 1.01 in the manuel when
it should be on the site. so that is the other reason for this. that
is why i get on here and ask for current versions of games to make
sure i have the latest version and if not how to get them.

[Audyssey] Howard A. Sherman game books on Kindle but not for the blind

2010-04-27 Thread Phil Vlasak

Hi Folks,
I've gotten no messages from this list since Saturday night.
To make this message appropriate I looked into getting Howard A. Sherman
Interactive Fiction books that are available for the Kindle but the Kindle
for PC software does not have text to speech capability and the application
installer is not accessible as far as I can tell.
The interactive fiction books are novelizations of the games converted to
books.

Saints in Sin City by Howard A. Sherman (Kindle Edition - Nov. 27, 2009)
- Kindle Book
$9.95

I think they are in pdf format so it is possible that they could be
converted to readable text.

Phil

Re: [Audyssey] suggestion for the people who makes games.

2010-04-27 Thread Thomas Ward
Hello Michael,
Keepin mind not all of the game developers on this list are equal.
Most have had no formal training in programming and therefore are
doing the best they can in producing games for us. I can't help but
feel a tad bit offended myself in being compared to Entombed as though
my games are now infurior to Jason's game just because I personally
hadn't thought about adding an update button and e-mail registration
system similar to Entombed before.
Just to get my point across how about if I ask you why you can't
spell? Your e-mail is full of spelling errors and sloppy grammar. How
about trying to proofread your messages before sending them out?
Now, I'm sure from where you are sitting what I just said is rude and
offensive. Although, the fact of the matter is you could do better in
writing your posts to the lists. Same goes with your question. There
are better ways to ask your question without being rude and offensive,
and the way you did it ticked me off as it sounds like a complaint,
wining, rather than an honest question.

[Audyssey] mtg database

2010-04-27 Thread Travis Siegel
Hello folks.
I've built an mtg database for myself, but just thought it might be useful to
others as well.
I'm actually pulling the data directly from the mtg website, but make a local
copy
in an mysql database, with additional fields (such as which cards I own)
to make it easier to determine what I have, and what I may still need to
purchase (if possible)
So, here's the question.
Given that it's not really a game as such, would folks still be interested in
having something like this, to maintain their own collections?
Assuming anyone else collects mtg cards that is.
It's written in php, so you'll either need a host, or you'll need to keep it on
your own machine which isn't the simplest setup,
but if anyone can use it, and wants to have it, let me know, and I'll ship it
out to you.
The first file grabs the info from the mtg main site, and parces it for the
required info, the second file actually inserts it into a local mysql database,
so I suppose this part could be modified to drop the info anywhere you'd
like to have it, including a text file or other type of database/spreadsheet
for your own playing sessions.

Try Jim Kitchen's football game. It's found at

www.kitchensinc.net

in the section of free text to speech Windows games. On offense, you
choose

from a list of plays, and on defense, well, you defend. It's a good fun
free game with good sounds. Be sure to download and install the other
necessary files first, as described at the site. And, while you're at it,
try the other free games from there, too. There's a lot of fun to be
found

there. HTH.

hi all;

really I love football so much and I need to play it on computer, while I
was at school we were playing football, but now no hope. so
I tried playing it on computer until I found the super football, it has
many good things like its name is football game.
but, really it's a very boring game, also, no competitions or something
inside the game, no updates, and the support team is not good.
also, when playing, no intertainment at all, cause computer will do all
things for you, u can't control the ball at all,
Just when the player speak s from the right you will send the ball right
etc.
also, can't play online at all, can't find any parteners.
so, now can't we find any other good football game for blinds?

really I love this game, and if I find one I will buy it soon.

Thanks in advance

[Audyssey] thoughts on a new list

2010-04-27 Thread Charles Rivard
I have been approached by some gamers about creating a new list dedicated
specifically for the purpose of asking for, and giving, solutions to those
blind gamers who get stuck at a particular stumbling block in a game designed
for blind gamers. It would not be for those who buy a game and want solutions
to problems after they try it once or even before they get their game changed
from a demo to the full version. It would not be for those who just want the
easy way out of a situation, but for the ones who have tried and tried, but
just can't manage to get past a particular monster or puzzle. Pointing to a
place in a user's guide where help is given would be perfectly permissible, and
encouraged. I'm looki8ng for constructive feedback as to whether or not such a
list is needed, or, as I feel, that it is already one of the aspects of the
Audyssey Gamers List, and is therefore not necessary. Just saying that it is a
cool idea would not be considered constructive. Why would it be cool? Thanks
in advance.

Hi.
User account control can be turned off by going to start menu and typing uac
into the edit field. One of the results, for me the very first one, will be
"change user account control settings." Press enter on this. When the
dialogue opens press tab until you get to "notification level". It is an up
down slider and is set to 66 percent by default. Set this to 100 percent for
full security, 66 for default security, 33 for less, and 0 for no UAC at
all.

Hi,
That Is possible I suppose. I know VB 6 isn't a core component of Windows 7
by default as I have the official Microsoft full install cd here and VB 6
didn't ship with it. However, some manufacturers may add VB support to their
OEM versions to help maintain some backwards compatibility with Windows XP
legacy applications that haven't been upgraded to something else more
current.

[Audyssey] Heeeelp!

2010-04-27 Thread Hayden Presley
Hi All,

This is slightly off tipic, however I could not think of anyone else to post
this to. I was having trouble with the goldWave scripts (for example I might
press F7 and it would fay "F7" instead of "pause") so I deleted them. I went
to JFW Lite, and tried the version there. Everything I press is an "unkown"
script call; I had to go into task manager to close the program. Does anyone
know of another website that has these scripts?

Best Regards,

Hayden
