I also noticed that sites that are on Dreamhost experience frequent

Hi,

Well, like I said I didn't have any say in the matter. Dreamhost was
subcontracted for a number of Skynet's accounts and their monumental
screw up not only effected me but a number of other Skynet's clients.
Needless to say after the screw up Skynet no longer subcontracts with
Dreamhost, and many of the accounts, including USA Games, are now
safely back on Skynet's personal machines and not subcontracted out to
Dreamhost. I've made it very clear if anything like this happens again
USA Games is walking and locating someone else. This situation is

Hi Kenny,

If you are talking about my NFL football game, probably the quickest way to get
down the field is when you call a screen pass and the defense has called a
blitz. That is if the blitz does not get to your quarterback first. But other
than a lucky play like that, there is no one perfect way to always get down the

[Audyssey] question about navigating in terraformers

2011-06-30 Thread alex wallis

Hi list.
I am just wondering, does anyone know if there is a way to side step in
terraformers?
As I checked the documentation but couldn't see anything about if this
is possible.
I find it quite hard to navigate around with turning etc, and finding
doors and other objects isn't easy if there is no way to side step, I
think I will give up with this game, as you seem to spend half your time
trying to line yourself up with objects and spinning around trying to
find where they are.

Re: [Audyssey] question about navigating in terraformers

2011-06-30 Thread dark

Hi Alex.

the bad news is no, there isn't a way to sidestep which I agree is a
problem, however I personally found the best way to compensate for this was
to use the find object menue, sinse the coordinates in each room of the game
are very precise.

Thus, if your at 10/15, and need to get to 12/18, instead of weaving around
in a diagonal it's easier just to walk north to row 18, then turn east and
go towards row twelve.

your also helped by the fact that terraformers doesn't have as small a
turning circle as other games, in fact I think pressing left or right arrow
turns you about 22 degrese per go.

Beware the Grue!

That worked great.
I now know that tabbing away from MOTA is a bad thing, as the game locks up.
So it's shut down JAWS, with insert plus f4
then Window key plus M to get to the desk top,
then M for mysteries of the Ancients,
and hit enter to start it.
I spelled out the steps just in case someone is not sure.

Hi list.
I am just wondering, does anyone know if there is a way to side step in
terraformers?
As I checked the documentation but couldn't see anything about if this is
possible.
I find it quite hard to navigate around with turning etc, and finding
doors and other objects isn't easy if there is no way to side step, I
think I will give up with this game, as you seem to spend half your time
trying to line yourself up with objects and spinning around trying to find
where they are.

[Audyssey] MOTA Bugs and Status

2011-06-30 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi Lukas and all,

Ok, a number of people have addressed and pointed out a number of bugs
over the past week, and do to the USA Games list being down for
several days many of you were not informed of these. Let me answer
some of these questions one by one and explain what we have found out
about them.

Lukas wrote:

The s key to toggle the laser sight seems to have stopped working for me. Did
you intentionally remove this feature, Thomas, or is it a bug?

My reply:

This was most certainly a bug. This has presently been fixed in the
update I hope to post nest week which fixes a number of these issues.
This was detected over on the Audyssey list earlier this week and we
located and fixed the issue fairly quickly.

Lukas wrote:

Sometimes, when level 2 is being loaded and its cut scene played, I can already
hear the sounds of the item in the first room while the scene is still
playing. If
I interrupt it with escape, they keep playing smoothly.

My reply:

Hmmm...I wasn't aware of that bug, but thanks for reporting it. I'll
take a look into it.

Lukas wrote:

The g key to check my strength doesn't seem to work here if I am poisoned. As
soon as I take a potion and it starts healing me and removes the
poison, it works
fine again.

My reply:

Ok, that's a strange one. I'll take a look and see if I might find out
what is wrong here. This definitely should not be happening.

Lukas wrote:

As soon as another application's window receives focus, the game freezes on me.
This is quite annoying for me because sometimes windows just pop into
the foreground
without my control or intent.

My reply:

Yeah, we are working on that particular bug. What is happening there
is when we updated the G3D engine, the Windows engine, we changed the
way it processes Windows events, and ended up messing up how it
processes the window. If you alt+tab or lose focus to the app there is
no way to get it back and the game simply locks up or crashes. We are
going to restore things back to the way they were in beta 18, but
might take a couple of days. Never-the-less we have plans to fix this
and upload an updated beta sometime next week after the website is
completely restored to working order.

Cheers!

Hi Thomas,

Yeah, I was also thrown by the whole Mac thing and over looked the dual boot

Thanks.

Hi Shane,

Smile. Well, there are definitely a lot of other names I could call
Dreamhost but this being a public list, and me being a moderator, I
can't exactly let loose with my exact thoughts. Calling them
incompetent morons is about the nicest thing I can say about them
right now.

Fortunately, for me I have everything on my 500 GB storage drive,
along with my current source code, etc and so Saturday, when I have
the time, I can upload and reset my account to pretty much the way it
was a week ago before everything got blasted.

I think what really burns me is I had just installed and setup the USA
Games blog etc, and was ready to announce it this week, when Dreamhost
nuked the account. Meaning all the work and blog posts I put up
Wednesday morning are toast. A total waist of time on my part. I hate
wasting time for nothing. Gr.

Re: [Audyssey] USA Games Website Status

2011-06-30 Thread shaun everiss

well the audio site I use often gets hacked, well tgets hacked more than once.
there was a rash when dreamhost and bluehost and its companies were hacked.
This is not dreamhosts fault but that it happened often after all
hacks stopped is.
This latest attack only happened on the site hosted by dreamhost and
I never saw it appear anywhere else.

so you wander where its security is.

Hi,

I hadn't heard of that website, but I'm not too surprised about
Dreamhost's poor quality and service. They had a bad reputation
before we were subcontracted out to them, and now I definitely can say
Dreamhost is terrible I'm just lucky I have my own backups and the
website should be back in working order by tomorrow..

On 6/30/11, Pitermach piterm...@gmail.com wrote:

This situation is
beyond screw up and in competence on Dreamhost's part.

 Cheers!
