Hi All,
I wonder if there might be any way to work on making the official, Alter Aeon
client accessible, specifically on Mac? I'm referring to the one available via
the Mac App Store. I realize that it's not strictly necessary, but it would be
nice to have access to something blessed by the
Hi,
I have to agree with you on that point. Accessible game developers have
pretty much over developed just about everything in the card and puzzle
variety except Mahjong. I've seen a number of accessible Solitaire
games, two or three versions of Monopoly, there is a couple versions of

Hi Dark,
That would be a good idea. I recently reinstalled XP on the family
desktop PC to use as a all purpose gaming machine since a lot of games
won't run on Win 7 and/or Linux, and I grabbed the APH demos. I couldn't
get them to run right on XP either. However, as you say its no big loss.
Hi all.
In the past I've considered making some games that have open source
versions accessible, but gave up because either the source code was
too complex ( 4 mb of source files) or the inserting of an access
framework would take too much time for a holiday project or parts of
the game would need
Hello all,
As I read it, mahjong would be a nice candidate game for the playroom.
However, I don't know it at all. From what I remember, mahjong was only
a solitaire where you had to match tiles to reveal other ones and
finally clear the all field. I didn't know that it was a true game.
If

Hi Quentin,
The Solitaire type Mahjong is only one variation on the Mahjong game.
There are actually several different variations of Mahjong with
different rules. and are played differently depending on the type of
game. Like a standard deck of playing cards there are a number of

Hi Willem,
I'm currently not working on any open source games, but I have looked
into it. As you discovered in most cases the game would have to be
completely rewritten from scratch to add accessibility support,
because the original design didn't have any room for accessibility to
be bolted on
Hello,
I have found that to be any good at PVP in Achaea or any of the Iron
realms games it takes some serious scripting. This is because of all
the different maladictions that the various classes can hit you with.
It is one of the reasons I don't play anymore. I want to enjoy a game

Well, FWIW, came across this open source instance of the old, elite,

I gave this a shot, but was pretty underwhelmed TBH. Has to be said
that I'm no athlete, but my spacial awareness, coordination and
confidence when moving aren't too shabby. I found the adaptions felt
clunky, and that there was little satisfaction to be gained. Sitting

Because of the toolkit we use, it was my understanding was that the
bulk of the menus and so forth were already accessible. However, the
most critical part, the main window, was completely unreadable.
That's not surprising to me, as the main display window is completely
custom and doesn't
Hi Tom.
It's possible that they had partially deaf gamers in mind, though nothing
like that is mentioned in the docs, and the way they seem so self
congratulatory about how accessible the games are to blind people I think
they probably would've.
Myself, I'm more inclined to the theory that
Exactly Greg. I couldn't have said it better myself. Totally
absolutely correct. However like I said I kind of have a love hate
relationship with the iron realms games. They do have good points.
Well I am not going to have much time to do anything especially play

Everyone,
Here's the latest batch of area updates from archais:
- vikings have been releveled and raised in level
- rogues have been moved to be just outside of Gad's Landing
- the nurgling swamp has been updated
- the djinni school near redferne has been updated
- mob levels in blackwater
Hello, the games are good but to complicated in my opinion. I had a quick go on
all of them and just could not get in to them at all. I like muds but have
never really found a mudding home.

Hi Dennis,
I understand what you're saying with regard to the complexity and time involved
in making the main window accessible. There is one other accessible Mac mudding
client, which was just found recently, but a little choice would be nice. THat
said, certainly focus on the game first. :)
Which mudding client for mac is this? I'd be very interested.

Hi,
I believe it is called Mudder, and can be found in the mac app store, and if
it hasn't already gone up in price it is at an introductory rate.

Dark,
We didn't so much lower the level of the blackwater hollows as raise
the recommended level range for it. Pretty much the whole area was
overpowered for its old rated level. It should be a little more sane
now, and we needed more areas at the upper end anyway.
Regarding wilderness, if
