Re: [Audyssey] Fw: competetive street fighter

2010-08-03 Thread Tom Randall
Hey this sounds great. Will be keeping an ear out for when this is gonna
happen. I am always interested in learning more about these games. I am
strictly just an ok player, I do not have huge amounts of time to sit around
and play these things, but when I do it is awesome!

As a lot of you know I've been into mainstream games for a long long time
and I gotta say these new ones absolutely rock. I frankly wasn't sure how
this was going to go when I started getting back into modern mainstream
games with the psp, the games seemed quite difficult and the menus
comparatively complex compared to the old systems. Also I do not
consistantly have sighted assistance around to learn to play these things.
Despite these few negatives, we have many things to add to the plus side of
the ledger, mainly improved sound quality, and I agree that the
streetfighter titles, ssfiv is the one that I have experience with, have
excellent audio cues.

Regards,

Tom

Right. First off, I'm proposing team talk as the lcient of choice, because
of the sound quality. Now, I'm curious to know... does anyone know of a good

way to stream audio through TT without using stereo mix with one soundcard?
Because the audio is going to ome through, but then everyone is going to
hear their own voices. So unless everyone has no problem with that... throw
out a few ideas. as to a date, what does everyone interested think?

Just to add on to Yohandy's earlier statement. A lot of people are indeed
mising out. Even a lot of the people who play mainstream games and say that
MK kicks SF's ass. This is an old debate, but I'm going to bring it up for a

minute. A lot of people appreciate MK for the audio, the gore and the
action. While that is true, I think that people haven't given SF that much
attention because of how complex the system is. However, it's necessary to
note that Street Fighter is what is known as a competetive fighter. I think
that if people start paying more atention to SF, there could be something
interesting results. Granted, MK is good, and I'm excited for MK 9. But I've

always given a bit of an edge to SF because of the competetive aspect and
how deep the gameplay system is. As a fighting game buddy of mine from home
likes to say, SF is easy to pick up and learn, but very difficult to
master. SF 4 was the one that peaked my interest in SF again. But since
then, it's been great, and I'm excited to see what people walk away with

As for the ps3 not having enough good games out for it, I think I
have to dey that. Not counting the awesome releases like MK 2 and a
remade street fighter 2 turbo, there's a lot of other games. A few
dragogn ball games, naruto, Tekken 6, Blazblue which is a completely
new entry but an awesome one into the genre. Not to mention heavenly
sword, rock band, and so on. But fortunately you'll already have a
ps3 where you're living, so you'll only have to look for games. But
I'd recommend looking into it, especially if you have someone
sighted around to help you play the games.

I'm interested, I can't figure out the combo system on that game to save my

I'm wondering, would anyone be interested in learning the more competetive
aspects of street fighter, and how to improve your game? I don't claim to be
a master player, but Yohandy and myself are both quite proficient. At least
yohandy is. Don't know about me. But such stuff would include stuff like how
to use your focuss attacks, the different combo types in SF, and character
tips. Would anyone be interested? Because such a conference, over something
like team talk or skype could work, if enough people are interested. What do
you guys think? I'd be more than happy to teach what little I know, and I'm
sure Yohandy would be too.

One more with interest in attending such a talk here. I'm more of an

Cool idea, keep me in the loop.

Thanks for all the responses foks. The version of street fighter we'l be

know we've put tons of time into the game. I wouldn't call mysef a

Re: [Audyssey] Fw: competetive street fighter

2010-07-30 Thread clement chou

But since
then, it's been great, and I'm excited to see what people walk away with
after the conference.

You guys won't need it unless you want to follow around in training mode.
Yohandy and I will have it on, because we'll most likely be sparring while
we explain things.

As for the ps3 not having enough good games out for it, I think I have to
dey that. Not counting the awesome releases like MK 2 and a remade street
fighter 2 turbo, there's a lot of other games. A few dragogn ball games,
naruto, Tekken 6, Blazblue which is a completely new entry but an awesome
one into the genre. Not to mention heavenly sword, rock band, and so on. But
fortunately you'll already have a ps3 where you're living, so you'll only
have to look for games. But I'd recommend looking into it, especially if you
have someone sighted around to help you play the games.
