Remember you need more staff than the minimum suggested to allow for sickness
and vacation time. Think around 10% over the minimum.

Thomas is right, this isn't a bug. The closing of the park for a week has a
massive impact on your bank ballence and customer satisfaction. It's an event
you can't just ignore.
Id suggest if it happens again go all out to get people back in to the park.

No, I don't believe it is a bug in the game. That is just what happens
some times. You run into really bad luck, and while the amount of
money seems a bit excessive I'd just say it is a case of the luck of
the draw rather than any technical bugs per se.

Each time you buy more land the maximum number of visitors you can get in the
park goes up.

You aren't limited to 10,000. You can go back to the bank and increase
the size of your lone as needed. You can press the increase the lone
by 10,000 option as many times as you need to in order to increase the
size of your bank lone.
