i was thinking about a new library for gimp and game players. this
could be called (as the subject says) libgimpcheckmate. this little
library could let the game players do whatever they want with pixels and
the person using TheGIMP for say something like pixel manipulation for
graphics or print

The value of the RGB of transparent pixels is crucial for applications
involving realtime MIPmapped textures...pretty much all 3D games for
example.
MIPmapping works by creating successively reduced resolution images -
each (typically) half the resolution of the previous one.
When a MIPmapped image
(Sorry for yet another long mail. I will try to be more concise in
my other replies, by not repeating the points already stated here.)

Hello GIMP developers:
I am in the process of updating my plug-in (p2m-plugin) to work
with GIMP 1.3. My GIMP is based on the gimp-1.3.23.tar.bz2
tarball. Getting the plug-in to work with 1.3 has been
fairly straightforward, but I was hoping to get your advice
on a couple of topics:
1) My plu

Sorry. I drew conclusions on the removal of the mingw makefiles
then. So mingw seems to work with the standard set of makefiles
nowadays.

These are makefiles for GNU make. If they work for mingw, that's fine
then.

I might be wrong since I don't compile

Hi Dave,
Thanks for bearing me with me patience. I would definitely post my proposal
on this, but not now, since I am little busy with project. In the mean time,
I am trying to compile GIMP from source, using mingw and on Windows XP box.
First of all it is failing to find pkg-config.
Therefore I

There are instructions on building the GIMP for windows in the wiki:

I would like to know how to get GIMP from CVS tree, I am using wincvs on

Thanks and regards,
