I have found out that I can open Inkscape examples OK. But my files which were generated bu Gnuplot can not be opened. At the same time Firefox and Inkscape can open them. Previously I was able to open and edit them (I still have some XCF files made out of my SVG ones.) I opened one file in

I am using gimp 2.6.4 under Fedora 9. I also have gutenprint 5.0.2. I have been using an Epson 1280. but I would like to be able to replace it if it fails. (I just had a very hard time cleaning the printheads.) gutenprint tells me is supports the Epson Stylus Photo R1800 and R2400, but

The reason you are having a problem is because you are using a very old version of GIMP. GIMP 2.2 is no longer supported. The file load operations you are asking were added in the 2.4 version of GIMP. Sigh. CentOS rpm is 2.2. Never even occurred to me to check! Kind of like never
