I'm not sure what I should expect to see, but apparently there is
nothing to see here.
I mean File - Create - Logos - Chalk... - (all defaults) - Ok =
only an empty (?) blackboard appears.
Am I missing something ?
Cristi
Doesn't work for me either.

Hi Jolie,
I like your tutorials, just found them on the mailing list. Much
better than the stuff I saw up to now on YouTube.
I am making Meet the GIMP, a (more ore less) weekly video podcast
about GIMP and other Open Source graphics software. I am doing this
for 2 1/2 years now and still have
is Akkana Peck's book. Also for beginners but you learn much
more for half the price. It's on gimp 2.4 but I found it easy to follow since
2.4 and 2.6 aren't that much different.

for the record, on the few occasion I did say something, the developers
always listened to what I had to say. :)

with Norman, try GIMP, it doesn't hurt, and see if it does what you want
it to do. Once you feel comfortable with image manipulation software you can
always go for that trial and see if Photoshop works better.

What kind of outcome are you expecting to get when stroking a path with a
selection tool?
I can't think of why you want to do this? Maybe someone can help you if we
know what it is that you are trying to accomplish.

I am using Gimp 2.67
I am modifying textures for a video game. The video game applies a special
effect to the areas of the texture that are not 100% transparent or 100%
opaque.
I am trying to make certain parts of the texture 100% transparent so that
it
is invisible in-game
to follow.
Take your time to learn GIMP. Photoshop isn't going to teach you itself by
magic either. You'll need books and tutorials too.

but
you could do it using a friends computer. As long as GIMP portable ends up on
that USB stick. It's easier to just plug in a USB stick then having to reboot
with a Linux LiveCD and on a USB stick you can save your settings and store
brushes, scripts etc.

Just double checked and on XP the crash only happens when there is an image
open too. And this is with load-buffer.dll back in its place.
