I just upgraded from 1.1.11 to 1.1.14. I'm running SuSE 6.3. I have many images saved as BMP files from 1.1.11. The "Determine file type: 'automatic' " button doesn't seem to identify files. If I put in XCF and select that, they open just fine. Otherwise, the file open fails. Any

searching in the direction of illustrator i would like to promote "sketch" again. it's certainly not the perfect tool with all functions like some of the classic window/mac stuff, but it's quit promissing. it can combine pixel/vector graphics with simple text etc. it uses layers and it has an pdf

Also, this may sound like another obvious problem, but how do you draw a hollow or fill circle/box? It seems like you need two more buttons like the selection versions, except something that will draw a box. I know how to draw a line, but there is no meta key combination for the pencil tool

when i do the print i get a dialog window. select print to lp or whatever it is instead of file. then set percentage etc and paper size in there. i have no problems switching to a4 and adjusting percentage and alignment how i want. what version gimp are you using? may be a problem in an older
