Michael,
if you look at the v3.0 release notes, it states that
"Data file directories are now located appropriately to the operating
system's conventions by default:

For Windows, I assume there are also two directories that correspond do
~.local/share/gnucash and ~/.config/gnucash. I'll take a look for them.

With Gnucash closed, go to the Gnucash's data files. There, find and
delete
any files with the suffix .LNK or .LCK then restart Gnucash.

Hi Michael:
It certainly would be nice to have another source for new releases of
gnucash.
I have just discovered Snap and have mixed "feelings" about it. I tried
one install which resulted in no new application.
The information on GC 2.6.21 from the find gnucash reveals:

While I've installed some SNAPS on my Ubuntu machine, I've not used them
extensively. Would a SNAP distribution of GNC allow a binary release for
all distros without having to wait for the package maintainers to update
their repositories?
That would sure be nice.

Just so I'm clear:
XDG_DATA_HOME will point to the GNC config directory on linux.
GNC_DATA_HOME will do likewise on Windows? And the config directory is
essentially the .gnucash from the v2.6 release?
I think this is right, just making sure I understand.
Thank you,
Michael

Gert,
Thank you for your response. I have checked out the New Transaction Report
in Gnucash 3.0, and so far as I can tell, it does not provide Consolidation
facilities.

I have very limited experience with SNAP on Ubuntu. It's been generally
good, but not completely problem free. I have thought about trying to
create a SNAP for GnuCash 3.0, but first I'll have to get it to build
cleanly in the native environment, something has so far eluded me.
As I

There are indeed issues with loading saved reports on Windows. I believe

I know it has been raised before, but is this functionality (multiple
item select, cut, copy and paste) on the queue for inclusion into GC any
time soon?

Hi:
Is anyone using Snap Package manage? I installed SnapD on my Linux Mint

the app was not listed in my applications.
I found GC 2.6.21 listed in Snap packages. I am currently using GC

Hello Everyone:
I am currently running LInux Mint 18.2 and GC 2.6.17 (the latest from

Recently, I was reading the Linux Mint blog which mentioned a new
package manager called Snap, described as a self-contained package
manager containing all dependencies. I checked Synaptic and
Hello.
After update to version 3.0 GnuCash doesn't save state: window position
and size, opened accounts, tabs and reports. Also, doesn't save custom

Is it a bug? What can be done?

In my experience Gnucash 3.0 will not open when installed over v2.6.21.
I surmise that this is because of certain Saved Reports.
I have clean-installed 3.0 on a second Windows 10 PC, and it opens my
database, and is neat and fast.
My problem is how can I migrate reports, particularly the
