Mervyn, I am very happy that you are able to watch Fox News through the day, BBC and CNN 24/7, Late Night shows in the night and CBC at the same time as the 600 channels 'one' subscribes to just because. I concede that Short Attention Span might be a major impediment to REASONABLE THINKING for one's own self. After all, have we not all Studied hard at University and Read even more Just to Relax and be Programmed by such wonderfully educated, thoughtful and unbiased Journalists? I previously had worked out the reason for Comrade Pinto's Kalnienkish vision. His private, semi-private and public postings made them all too self-evident. Thank you, Sir Mervyn, for alerting me to another reason for such thinking ie 600 channels blasting 'at me.Hence, NO time or avenue for me to THINK and REASON it all out for myself' ! A Very (Early) Good Morning to You and All who see this post. jc

Ah NYT, interesting what you wrote then about it. Doc, Even though Satan has sent in women to distract the voters, do not underestimate the Republican party loyalists. Like the BJP loyalist, when called to the polls, they will flock, heed and vote for the party nominee. The prospect of putting Hilary in jail is enticing for the other Republican voters - Donald knows how to handle women. The Republican voters who are yapping about not voting for Trump do not have an alternative person to vote for. After all, Trump is the outsider, the third party candidate, running on the Republican ticket. Least I forget, Trump is also the author of the wildly popular promise to build a wall. Happily, there is no better news source for Canadians than CBC. Unhappily, my TV service has 600 channels. While the BBC has always been my favorite, it is somewhat of a spectator to US politics as it does not know what to make of the current situation. CNN is the opposite, with one of its channels devoted 24/7 to the elections. On the other channels, the late night show hosts provide comic relief in the evenings and Faux News does the same for the rest of the day. Then there are the pseudo news outlets that provide the best coverage of all, my favorite being Facebook. Thankfully, Donald has mastered this outlet and Twitter. His twits are important. They sink ships. Speaking of which, notice how the US military forces are 100% behind Trump after he called Arizona Senator McCain a loser - for being a prisoner of war during VietnamÉ Mervyn

What you may have not yet heard is that Trump has boasted that if he does not win the elections - no one will hear from him again. This scares the news companies like CNN and Faux News who know that they will have much more viewers – and profits - over the next four years if Trump wins. Trump is very vocal, insisting that the US election system is rigged. As you know, the US election system is not a popularity contest. Unlike most countries, it does not depend on who gets the majority of votes. It is the person who gets the electoral college votes who becomes the President. Trump is convinced that he is going to win that, bigly. He has got huge amounts of people to register to vote - for the first time - and has called on all his supporters to go out and vote on November 28th. I too am expecting interesting numbers at the voting booth on that day. As far as donations are concerned, I am told that Trump is no longer accepting donations from his supporters i.e. ever since some donors have started asking for their money back. Even anonymous donations are being turned down as Trump stresses that he is the ‘family values’ candidate for the ‘family values’ party. Lastly, there are several ways of making money depending on who gets into the White House. For example, there are known baskets of stocks and ETF’s that will jump depending on who wins. These are much better odds to play than betting on the wrong octopus. Mervyn

The news organization that has done so, is the National Enquirer. US politicians have been unable to grasp the popularity of the Donald. They will be as surprised as their British counterparts on the morning they woke up to Brexit. One thing is sure, I got a lot of return for the small donation I made to the Trump campaign. Now that Donald is assuring all Republicans that he will not work with a Republican controlled House and/or Senate, I think the time has come for me to double my donations to support the Donald's vision. Mervyn BTW, talking about spin, the organisation any spin master would like to work for is Faux News er, Fox News.

Re: [Goanet] The First Goan President of the USA
Eugene, Hillary Clinton wanted to keep Donald Trump in the race as she thinks she can defeat him - but would have a problem defeating any other Republican candidate. Donald, on the other hand is confident that he will beat Hillary and has made it clear that he will put Hillary in jail once he has done so. I am not sure if he borrowed this tactic from Goan politicians or E. African politicians but he sure has made the race more interesting. Mervyn BTW, the only way Donald differs from Goan politicians is that he likes and is supported by the Russians. They will help him with all his electronic snooping requirements.
Re: [Goanet] The First Goan President of the USA
Trump behaved well last night, though occasionally he showed his nasty side. His performance can prevent the Republican brass from yanking him out of the presidential race. His support should be happy that Trump apologized for his past remarks and also called the recent tape issue as "locker room talk". It was in bad taste that he brought four women, who claimed they had affairs with Bill Clinton, including one who alleged rape, to make his case, as he himself put it, that he only said "words" while Bill did "action". This election is going to be closely fought, and one never knows if Trump can come up trumps. .
