They are exactly the same thing. Your ISV vendor is an ignoramus. Or is
playing delay tactics with you.

These 2 terms are similar but not the same.
Just to get things clear - (From IBM Knowledge Center website):
EREP - Environmental record editing

True. Like other list-servs, it is a self policing discussion list. The

Hello,
Apology incase if this query sounds too basic.
I am trying to Understand the Difference between a Logrec Report and a EREP
report.
This question came to my mind when I was working with one of ISV vendor.
Initially we gave EREP report but later on he wanted to have a Logrec
Report.
Could
Is the RAW logrec which would be in Binary. The Vendor is looking for
particular Timeframe(1 hour). Can i use SAS to extract for 1 hour ?

For what contents? I don't know if you can use SAS, but other great SAS experts
in IBM-MAIN can probably help you.
You can certainly use
Not sure where you save your logrec data to, but EREP has the ability to
specify date/time ranges for extraction. No need to use SAS

Another take on
The email from IBM with Subject: "New IBM z/OS RSU testing complete"
came in back on Oct 7th. None of my RECEIVE processes since then had
picked up any new RSU* assigned PTFs until today. I have never seen
such a delay between getting the email and PTFs in the repository not
getting updated.

Ok, where is your RAW LOGREC stored? In a CF structure or in a dataset like
SYS1.LOGREC?
David gave you that job which will do that. Include these 2 lines to David's
sample,
//ACCINDD DISP=SHR,DSN=
//ACCDEV DD DISP=OLD,DSN=
Well, trust but verify, right?
Unfortunately, it gets a bit complicated when the changes that need to be
tested in the compiler come at a version level. Once you have ordered a new
version, you have a year to migrate off the old version, or IBM begins charging
you for running both. So,
Dave,
Vendor is looking only for RAW LOGREC not EREP.

Off the top of my head:
JES2 checkpoint
Vtam Generic resources
XCF signaling
GRS (star vs. ring)
System logger (all functions)
Enhanced Catalog Sharing
VSAM Record Level Sharing
I am sure there are others (exclusive of DB2/MQ) that I have omitted.
HTH,
I was asked to provide a list of
Typically I will generate the report for the vendor.
Is there a reason they are looking for the RAW info? That is found in
SYS1.LOGREC or you may have a job that runs daily that offloads it to a GDG for
historical reference.
Does the vendor have an NDA signed with your company? That sometimes
Lizette, I'm not sure what you're looking for. CF Sizer does calculations for
'Enhanced Catalog Sharing' and for 'DFSMShsm Common Recall Queue'. Is there
some other function you're trying to size?

Now, why didn't I think of that? (Too simple and direct, I suppose.)
Of course, that might well be a resource only for IBM exploiters of the
CF, and there are others.

I have been waiting on some enhancements for CFSizer.
It does not calculate for Catalog in CF or HSM Using RLS.

'Skip' is the only name I've ever gone by with acquaintances, but it's nowhere
on any legal document. In general, if someone includes a nickname in their
