If you go to http://www.declude.com/tools , there are scripts there that
can be scheduled to run automatically, which do not require a user to be
logged
Why not run it as a program alias? That way you only retireve the updates
when you really need to (in response to their notifications).

Ironically, I've usually found that it's the reply confirmation email that
causes the trouble . I usually generate one from scratch, which has as its
only text the unsubscribe line. The text in the instruction mail that
you're supposed to reply to gets in the way of the receiving service.

By definition, you cannot.
Although it would technically be possible to alter the numbers in the file
that contains the probabilities, it would very likely backfire on you.
I posted this before...you can have it if you want it. It
works for us, but some tend to disagree with it, so I suggest you test it. We
