[IMail Forum] Max Mailbox Size

2008-12-18 Thread Todd Richards
Hello -

I have a user who is getting messages that their mailbox is nearly full and
that they should remove some messages. We are running Imail 8.2x. Our main
domain has a value of 0 set for the max mailbox size. I am then setting
each of the virtual domains separately (the same, but this particular domain
- mine - has a much higher value).

The values on this domain are set as follows:

Default Max Mailbox Size: 75000
Single Message Max. Size: 5242880

He has a total of 66MB in his folder, including all of the various files
that are in there. This happened a few months back and we had to purge
mailboxes to keep from having issues.

Does this feature just not work, or am I setting something wrong on it?

Thanks for any thoughts.

Todd

Hey Todd. Those message size limiters have always worked ok for me.
750MB should be 786432000. I found that IMail likes a close conversion.
But I have never tried anything that high. When I used IMail 8.15 I
stopped at about 200mb.

Cheers

RE: [IMail Forum] Max Mailbox Size

2008-12-18 Thread Todd Richards
Thanks Mark. I originally had it set for around 200MB but there were a few
of our managers who are hitting that limit and I needed to up it. All of
the other virtual domains that I have are about 200MB.

I will try your new number and see if that helps us out.

Todd

Nope.. If you have a setting on the domains level the 0 is not honored
you have to put a really large number in the individual users' setting.

[IMail Forum] Max Mailbox Size

2005-04-12 Thread Kris McElroy
If a host has a mailbox size of 10024288 (~10MB) and the user is set to 0
(zero) which should default to the host size.

1. If I make a change to the host say make it 20024288 it is not updating
(or I think It is not) the individual mailboxes, if you go into webmail it
shows the default limit originally 10mb?

2. If I reset the a domain to say 20mb limit will it update all individuals
set to 0?

Thanks,

Kris

[IMail Forum] Max Mailbox Size

2005-04-12 Thread Christopher Jones
Hi all

Just a quick one this time.

There is the field in Imail to set the Max Mailbox Size across an entire
domain. Cool! The field is in bytes (why won't they just starting using MB
is beyond mesaves me having to use my calculator!!! Haha).

According to the Knowledge Base on the Ipswitch website, the max limit you
can enter into this field is 4GB, or 4,294,967,296 bytes as Ipswitch want
you to enter it. This is fine with me.

However, anytime I enter a value of 1GB (1,073,741,824 bytes) or more, as
soon as click Apply the value is reset to Zero.

Has anyone come across this?

I'm running Imail 8.15 Hotfix 1, if that helps!

Thanks!!!

Unlimited mailbox size was what I had running on 8.05, when I installed 8.10
it changed it to 10mb.

IS THIS why SMPT keeps crashing (related to a queuemgr problem)?

I've changed my settings to unlimited, hopefully my problem (and maybe
yours) is solved.

2004-04-02 Thread Vincent Toussaint
I really don't think this is related to SMTP problems. It's been
changed because it's in the WebMail template.

I'm not even sure if it's really working as quota... I have user with
mailbox bigger than 300Mb. They were receiving the warning message at
logon but they could still receive/send new mails.

Unlimited mailbox size was what I had running on 8.05, when I installed

it changed it to 10mb.

IS THIS why SMPT keeps crashing (related to a queuemgr problem)?

I've changed my settings to unlimited, hopefully my problem (and maybe

Re: [IMail Forum] Max mailbox size

2004-04-02 Thread Scott Smith
No, the webmail template doesn't actually work as a quota - if you actually
have a 50MB limit, then you would have to set the webmail template
separately in order to have that same 50MB limit appear the user. It's
really only a statistic (as far as I could see anyway). I noticed it on my
account too, but I had over 100MB - and I never had anything pop up that
told me I was nearing or past my limit.

Yes if you consider (as I do) 1MB to be 2**20.

Note that binary stuff expands when encoded so keep that in mind when
people complain about 2.9MB attachments not passing.

[IMail Forum] Max Mailbox Size

2001-09-13 Thread gazza

I am testing Version 7. I am also using HKSI Killer Web Mail. Everything
works graet except for one thing taht have got me scratching my haed.

If I set up default max mailbox size limit for a host of say 10MB
(1000) and I set a individual user Mailbox size limit of 0. Your
documentation/help clearly states atht user should therefore inherit host
setting of 10MB. This does not happen. The user becomes unlimited.
I can set his size as 10, 20, 30MB and it works fine. Any ideas?

That is an IMail bug involving the tag that returns the user mailbox size
limit to the webpage. We've been aware of it for some time, and made
Ipswitch aware of it, but just recently stopped waiting and fixed it
ourselves. About an hour ago we released KillerWebMail hotfix 2.0.6,
available at http://hksi.net/downloads/ to registered customers, that
fixes the problem with a domain-specific config file in which you can set
the domain's default size limit.

BTW, you'll find a lot more Killer users over on our IMail Admin list that
we host, as well as product announcements like the one today for 2.0.6.

Okay - help out here - the setting for Default Mailbox size if I
 wanted it
set to 5MB would be - 512000 Bytes - right?

[IMail Forum] Max Mailbox Size

1999-08-19 Thread Rubens Altimari

When receiving an oversized message for a user who has a limit on his
mailbox size, IMail will first receive the entire message, and then check
the limit. Too bad, because it could discard the message as soon as the
limit was reached. I have a user with a 1Mb mailbox, but someone insists in
sending him a 15Mb message every few hours.

Besides blocking the sender, is there any way to modify this behavior?
I've looked in the knowledge base, but I haven't found anything.

TIA,
Rubens
