I have JAWS 6.0 and XP.
My goal is to read a few pages of a document each day.
One book is in I.E. and the other book is a document I down loaded to My
Documents , in Word.
Each reading is over 125 pages.
My question is how can I mark where I leave off each day so that I can go to
that
Rich,
In IE, you can do a control shift K to put a place marker where you left off
in your reading. Then the next time you go to that page, just type the
letter K and it will cycle you to the different place markers you have. You
can also delete the place markers whenever you want to.

John,
Use your Windows key and arrow around in there so you know what is
accessible to your computer and then find control panel and hit the enter
key.

John,
The control panel should be in your start menu. It might be under settings,
but should be listed there someplace.
It may also be listed in the My Computer.
Once you get to the control panel, you will probably want to tab to, switch
to classic view and press your spacebar.

I'm not sure where you are typing in, d:\.
When you put in the XP upgrade CD, it should automatically start the
installation.

Do you have help installing the XP update?
You should be able to go to the start menu, and then arrow down to and press
enter on, run.
Type in, d:\setup and press enter.
I wouldn't try upgrading your PC unless you have somebody helping you that
knows what they are doing though.

Google puts these lines characters in. I have no control over them. Now
instead of being adversarial about it you could have simply asked why they
are included in each and every message, but no matter. Here's all
hmmm, don't know what the problem is, i had to look at the part of

Al,
The only clue I have at the moment is that the beta 2 version of Windows
Defender expired on 31 December. This may account for the program not
working. It is a shame that the Windows Update did not flag this up.
Might be worth doing another update in a few days' time.

That could be. I checked for an update and downloaded it but it made no
difference. I have heard from 4 people experiencing the same problem so I guess its
not only us...

Changing speech to Intermediate did nothing. I still hear those lines that

figured that changing to Intermediate would make no difference and it
didn't. What synthesizer do you use? I'm using Eloquence. Also, how do
It sounds to me like what you're saying is that you recently installed XP on
your computer and now, JAWS is coming up in demo mode. This is to be
expected, since after installing the new operating system (that is,
Windows), you need to re-authorize JAWS. This has nothing to do with where
