Re: [JAWS-Users] Itunes script error message

Hello, Leonard. I don't know what version of Windows you are using. I am
using Windows 7 64-bit Pro. While I didn't have the error you describe, I
did have an entry point error that would not go away. After considerable
research, I found a very detailed article that helped me. If you wish,
please send me your E-mail address, and I'll send it to you, as I don't
wish to clutter the list. I will tell you that I had to do two clean
reinstallations of both ICloud and ITunes. It wasn't easy, but the error has
not returned. Unfortunately, I saved the article without copying the link,
but I would be glad to send it to you. It may apply in Windows 10 as well.

Re: [JAWS-Users] iTunes: Rearranging Order of Playlist

2017-02-07 Thread Cher Bosch
You can no longer rearrange the order of songs if the playlist was created
in iTunes later than 12.1. If there are older playlists (created with older
versions of iTunes) you can rearrange these. I copy my old playlists (which
I don't need to rearrange) into a new playlist; then use the now empty old
playlist to create and rearrange song order until I'm satisfied with the
order. A tech at Apple verified that a physical mouse is the only way to
rearrange playlists- (beginning with iTunes 12.2.1, I believe).

I have an acquaintance with a new Windows 10 HP laptop with the latest
versions of both JAWS 18 and iTunes installed. This individual would like to
be able to rearrange tracks in his iTunes playlist; any suggestions? We
attempted the drag and drop method without success, though this could be
because we missed a step. One thing noticed with Windows 10 is that the JAWS
cursor cannot be depended upon to work as well as it had in previous
versions of Windows.

We know of the drag and drop key sequence (Control+JAWS Key+NumPad Slash).
We even tried having the JAWS cursor follow the PC cursor (Control+JAWS
Key+NumPad Minus). Basically, we attempted this task using every JAWS
Key+option
we could think of including using the JAWS cursor independently.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

[JAWS-Users] iTunes Version 12.5.4.42

2016-12-15 Thread Jim
Good morning Jaws users list. The new iTunes Version 12.5.4.42 update
finally works better with Jaws. Apple fixed the issue in the main list of
artist, you can now use your up and down arrow keys and hear the artist
name, instead of just hearing blank. First letter navigation works as well.
However, there are still issues with Jaws in the sidebar. For example, from
the search edit box, if you press the f6 key one time, you will hear, for
example, my setting is set to songs, Library sidebar, tree view songs, 5 of
17. If you try and change this, Jaws has some issues telling you what choice
you are on. Pressing the f6 key again, lands you on, Library sidebar, tree
view library. If you change this choice, Jaws has some issues, telling you
what choice you have highlighted. Also, while looking at the search results
in the iTunes store, Jaws does not say visited links. So this still makes it
difficult when going back to the results page to start again where you left
off. So let me, thank Apple and Freedom Scientific for some of the issues,
with iTunes and Jaws, that you have fixed so far. If anyone from Freedom
Scientific is reading this email, please take the time to fix the above
issues I have mentioned with using iTunes 12 with Jaws 18. There are many of
us who still use iTunes as our default music player. Thank you very much.

Jim.

it's not windows 10!
try removing ITunes completely from your computer then reinstalling it.
someone on this list had steps on how to remove ITunes I copied some of the
steps but it doesn't make sense to me. here is what I copied.

aafter removing iTune, go to your C: drive, then into program files, and
delete the iTune folder.
Next, press windows key +R to open the run dialogue box, and then type
%appdata% and press enter. This should bring you to the user folder. Look
for a folder called Apple Computer and delete that folder.

I cannot find your Chrome podcast. Will you please send it to me again either

Hi Jim,
Everything you reported is happening to me exactly. You have made me feel so
much better, because I thought I had messed things up in my settings. I
thought that it was the up date, but now, you have confirmed that is indeed
the case. Guys, what Jim said is totally true for me. You should indeed
still land on the artist list, but I have to do the same playing around with
the up and down arrow to get on the artist I want. I know this is
irritating, because I love to fly down the list of my artists to decide what
I want to play. However, like Jim said, we will love iTunes even more when
FS does its thing. We must all remember that we blind people are the
minority in this world, and the sighted are the ones technology is being
made for. The only thing we can do as a minority is to be patient, more
patient, and then thankful for what we do have as a minority. The fact that
we can use the Windows OS at all is a mircle that the blind were very scared
about before Ted Hentor and other positive blind people programmed JAWS to
interact with Windows. We should try not to complane, but to make these set
backs an exciting moment to make us even more patient and stronger. We
should speak up to tech companies about accessibility, but with the attitude
of educating them, because we are the minority who does need to speak up. We
must speak up in a positive and loving way, though, and quit complaining.
Thanks a lot, Jim for working with iTunes to give us this report. I have
worked with it for hours. I stayed up all night trying to figure out why it
is acting the way it does and to try to find work arounds. That is what we
must do. We have to play with software with total patience and try to figure
out a way we can use it instead of taking so much energy away from us to
complain. We will always have to work harder to have what we want in this
world, because we are a very small minority of the entire population. Take
care all, and do not give up on iTunes, because it is the best way I have
been able to organize my music, pod casts, and on and on. Let us give thanks
that we can use it at all. Have a great one, guys.

Don't hold your breath! Then again, why do we as customers to Apple
products always have to wait weeks to months for updates to make something
work that should work immediately! I don't end up where you do when iTunes

Hi again Jaws Users group, let me start off with the positive review of
iTunes 12.4.

The newly designed iTunes store is awesome, the page's load very fast, no
waiting or hesitation, same when you press the backspace key to go back to
the previous page, works great. The only thing that needs to be fixed by
Freedom Scientific is to make Jaws see the visited links. I was able to buy
several albums with no issues, they downloaded a lot faster as well. So I
give iTunes an A-minus for the store, would have been an A+, if Jaws
announced the visited links.

Now when you first open iTunes, for example on my computer, iTunes opens to
the Artists list.

As I use the down arrow key, Jaws reads what seems to be some kind of a code
before the name of the artist, Jaws reads: "Description L1."

As I down arrow through the list of artist, sometimes I must press the down
arrow two times and then up arrow one time, and then down arrow again to
show the next artist, or when I use first letter navigation, I must do the
same thing to get Jaws to read the next artist, so they get a C-minus.

As you press the F6 key to jump across the interface, they have changed
things as well. I personally think when Freedom Scientific makes the
necessary changes to Jaws for the new iTunes

Re: [JAWS-Users] iTunes 12.4 my observations so far

2016-05-20 Thread David Moore

Hi Jim,
Everything you reported is happening to me exactly.

I personally think when Freedom Scientific makes the
necessary changes to Jaws for the new iTunes interface, I think we will like
it much better than any previous version of iTunes.

I am still playing around with iTunes 12.4; I am going to leave it on my
computer. I am looking forward to the corrections from Freedom Scientific
to the Jaws 17 program that will allow us to take advantage of this new
interface.

Apple releases regular updates to iTunes that introduces new features, bug
fixes and performance improvements. However, sometimes changes to the
program may be undesirable to you or cause the program to work incorrectly.
You can revert to a previous version of iTunes by uninstalling the software
and removing configuration files.

This tutorial will show you how, using keyboard navigation.
if you are using anything above windows XP
Step 1
press win key+m and select itunes then press enter to Launch it. press the
alt key to select the standard menubar and select File and select "Export
Library" to save your iTunes library if necessary. Quit iTunes when you have
finished exporting the library file.

Step 2
press "Start" and select "Control Panel" select"programs and features" To
uninstall a program, select it from the programs list and press the
application key and from the context menu select uninstall and press enter.
You will need to uninstall "iTunes," ," "Apple Software Updater," "Apple
Mobile Device Support," "Bonjour" and "Apple Application Support."

Step 3
Restart your computer when you finish uninstalling all the iTunes software.
Step 4
after the computer has restarted. press win key+m and select computer
assuming you have the computer icon on your desktop. If not then press the
start menu button and find computer and open it. Navigate to "C:\Program
Files" and delete the "Bonjour," "iTunes," "iPod," and "QuickTime" folders.
Open the "Common Files" folder within "Program Files" and delete the "Apple"
folder.

Step 5
Launch a Web browser and navigate to the Old Apps website at
http://www.oldapps.com/
Step 6
Select "iTunes" in the "Audio Utilities" section and download the previous
version of iTunes that you want to install on your computer.

Step 7
Open your "Downloads" folder and double-click the iTunes installation file
to install the previous version of iTunes on your computer.

Step 8
Launch iTunes when finished with installation. Select the standard menubar
then select File and select "Import." Select the iTunes file you exported
previously to reload your iTunes library. Assuming you performed step 1.

if you are using XP or below the steps are similar but some things are
different

Step 1
Launch iTunes. Click "File" and select "Export Library" to save your iTunes
library if necessary. Quit iTunes when you have finished exporting the
library file.

Step 2
Click "Start" and select "Control Panel." Click "Uninstall a program." To
uninstall a program, select it from the programs list and click the
"Uninstall" button. You will need to uninstall "iTunes," "QuickTime," "Apple

Hi Dave,
Did you listen to my Using iTunes with Jaws part 3?
I have no issues moving around or things being sluggish.
Yes, it’s a big program, because it does a lot of different things for us.
Totally accessible without any scripts.

Love God! with your heart, mind, and soul, that you might be blessed
reaching His goal.
Love your Neighbor as you would yourself, God will truly reward you with
good health.
Love God, your neighbor, as you love yourself, you will then be spiritually
balanced with wealth.
Love His Word that proceeds from His lips, then reflect on the heavens where
God sits.

You may not have a big choice, if you have a newer IOS on your iPhone, then

Hi Steve,
The latest iTunes is totally accessible with the latest Jaws without any
scripts.

I have used iTunes for 8 years.
Its all about setting it up correctly.
Using the column browser, Control+Shift+B.
Using Control+J, Shift+Tab to, the list box, down arrow to Songs, press
enter.

Under ALT+V, for the view menu.
Down arrow to the column browser sub menu, right arrow.
I show you in the recording Using iTunes with Jaws, audio 3.
What items need to be checked under the column browser menu, to get all
things displayed correctly for Jaws.

Listen to the audio tutorials on using Jaws with iTunes.
If you have any more questions let me know after listening to the audio
tutorials.

These are fairly long lessons.

Try control-s to bring up the so-called side bar. If that doesn't work, tab to
the "menus" button, which is something like three tabs in once iTunes has
opened on your PC. Pressing alt brings up a fairly traditional file menu.
Finally, you can alternate between screens with F6.

No issues because Patty does the fiddling with iTunes. It just bugs me how
clunky it is to work with, I just don't get the interface or understand why
people love it so much. Just my opinion and nobody else's.

[JAWS-Users] Itunes issue.

2016-04-10 Thread Justin McDevitt
`~~

Hello listmembers,

Earlier today, I created a Playlist within Itunes of specific songs within
my overall music file directory.

After completing the Playlist and selecting the Songs option, the song list
was presented in alphabetical order based on the title of each track.

To re-order the list, I pressed Control X and then Control-V to place the
track at a specific point within the Playlist. However, unlike the many
other times in which I have utilized this command, the titles were not
re-ordered per my objective. As an Itunes user for the past 5-6 years, what
step am I issing here?

Best, Justin

Well enough has been said about it and all is fine in mud ville so to speak.
So let us move on and look forward to the next episode of the Flintstones
coming up on cartoon network today some time. Yes it still works after all
of these years.

David, I also appreciate the minimal footer (I wish all mls would use
this strategy), but my point was that Dave Carlson exclaimed that it was
at the bottom of every post which it was not. if he was tired of people
asking, he should have kindly said to enter on the link to visit the FAQ
page and explore with the h key or find a string of text, like Adrian
said, instead of saying "for Pete's sake...", or say nothing and let
someone else advise. sometimes someone forgets and needs to be reminded
occasionally. I won't say any more about it because I don't wish to get
booted off this list.

Thank you, finally somebody took the time to review the help page. I
appreciate you saying this, it does my heart good believe me.

Everything up there is under a heading so all anybody has to do is keep
hitting their H key until they land on what they are looking for. Also
although I didn't have to review the help page since I wrote the thing I
took a minute this morning just to make sure it is all still there and it
remains where I put it probably 8 years ago or more.

Thank you.
Jaws 17 does a fantastic job in the iTunes store now.
No loss of focas and no jumping around.
Does a great job on the buttons to listen to the different sample tracks of

Good afternoon, Jaws users list.
For all the iTunes users.
iTunes 12.3.317 is out today.
Funny thing when I opened my iTunes today, it told me that there was an
update.
I tried like usual using Jaws 17, to go through the iTunes update normally
in which I have no issues doing to update iTunes.

Today however it failed twice.
So, I went to ninite.com and downloaded and ran it from there with no
issues.

This seems to be my week with facing all kinds of issues.LOL.
Yesterday, I added some audio files to my OneDrive group download page.
Microsoft wanted me to use the groove music app to play them from OneDrive.
That was fine.
But they had a stupid ad trying to get me to buy it for all my devices.
They had a get started button, but know way to decline the dumb thing.
I had to recreate my OneDrive shared folders on my desktop giving them a
slightly different name.

I then copied all the tutorials from the old folders to the new ones.
I stopped sharing the old folders and deleted them.
I put the new OneDrive folders in sink with my computer.
I got a share a OneDrive link for both folders individually.
I then had to switch to Jaws 16 to make changes to my Yahoo group settings,
Jaws 17 still will not work doing this task.

Both my OneDrive group download pages are working correctly now.
Seems like Microsoft is trying to integrate all their programs together.
This is a challenge all by itself, we don’t need all the ads to complicate
things even more.

Are any of you who are using Jaws 17 to update iTunes having any problems?
Thanks for listening.
Now time for more coffee.

Hi,
I don't think it's a Windows 10 issue. I just upgraded iTunes using the
latest build of both Windows 10 and JFW 17 by navigating to the help menu
initiating check for updates, closing iTunes and following the prompts win
the apple software updater with no issues at all. Everything verbalized as
it always did and iTunes is now up to date.

iTunes 12.3.317 is out today.
Funny thing when I opened my iTunes today, it told me that there was an update.
I tried like usual using Jaws 17, to go through the iTunes update normally in
which I have no issues doing to update iTunes.
Today however it failed twice.
So, I went to ninite.com and downloaded and ran it from there with no issues.

Love God! with your heart, mind, and soul, that you might be blessed reaching
His goal.
Love your Neighbor as you would yourself, God will truly reward you with good
health.
Love God, your neighbor, as you love yourself, you will then be spiritually
balanced with wealth.
Love His Word that proceeds from His lips, then reflect on the heavens where
God sits.

Hi Holger,

Try navigating to the iTunes folder, with the iTunes folder highlighted,
open the context menu with the applications key or with, Shift + F10, arrow
to, Exclude from Vipre Scan, & press enter. I don't know if this will work,
but you can give it a try. If it doesn't work you can remove it from
Vipre's exclusions by, highlighting the file, open the context menu, & press
enter on, Remove from Vipre Exclusions.
Take care.

Hi Holger,

Have you looked in your Quarantine folder? If Vipre seen it as some sort of
malware, that's where it would be. If it's there, find the always allow
option & click on okay. If you can run iTunes, but after you close you
can't restart it in the same session, but if you reboot the computer, & you
can start it again, then it's not Vipre.
Take care.

Go to:

C:\Users\(Whatever name your logged into Windows under)\My
Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Music

If you chose under the iTunes preferences menu to copy files to your
hard drive you'll see them listed here (Arranged by Album name or
Unknown folder."

I don't know where that folder is located with my imported songs
