Hi Marie, There is a bug in JAWS which causes it to not detecting the application you actually were in when you opened the JAWS window with INSERT+J. To make the Select a Voice Profile dialog to detect the application from which you opened it, open it by pressing CTRL+JAWS+S from wittin the desired application instead of using the JAWS menus. Hi Press enter on that file in My Documents (the one you downloaded from the web). It will start installing. Follow the guide on screen: for example, being asked whether you are sure you want to install the voice. After installation, JAWS wil tell you that you need to restart your system. Do so. Pete: Jaws will call it realspeak solo direct factory. If you tab, it will run your default realspeak voice for the application you are working in. I don't remember how to set which voice you want as your default realspeak voice, if you want to use eloquence as well, but I know it's in the JAWS menu. I will email you if I can figure that one out, or maybe someone else on this list knows where to find the voice settings for choosing a default realspeak voice without necessarily making it your default voice overall. If you simply want to use a realspeak voice instead of eloquence, you can set that up under the jaws menu, options, voices, select a voice profile. You find this in the Jaws voices menu. A shortcut is Insert plus Control S. Or, on a laptop, caps Lock, Control S. Once you get there, down arrow to the profile you want and Enter. Would you mind sharing how it is done? If I use OE and eloquence with it, but I stumble upon some unknown word, I'd like to start my dictionary with my sapi5 profile and bulgarian voice. And When I start word for example to read an english book, I want to open word and hear Daniel's sapi5 voice for example. I've never been able to achieve this result - switching through this 3 opened applications to hear the different synths and voices. It's good what David pointed to, but there's no word for the profiles. Sorry for that misinformation! I was under the impression by reading the documentation that this method should work. It does seem to work if you are just changing voices within the same synthesizer. It does not work if you want to change from one synthesizer to a different one!I am not sure if this the intended operation or if it is a bug with the new voice profiles feature. Perhaps using the script solution Dave posted is the only way to accomplish this task for now.
