Re: [LU] Saiz

2018-12-14 Thread Richard Walker via Leedslist
Siaz (just to annoy Mr Heeth) has not had many good games in the last 12
months. He has no pace and that renders him very ineffective in most games.
Also, he's a little shit who spits in opponents faces. Scumbag. Good riddance
and thank God we won't have to hear that fucking awful chant again.

I hope Bielsa is making notes of players he sees who could fit into his system,
as it seems unlikely we won’t need some recruits.

Considering he apparently had watched every Leeds game from last season before
his job interview, I'd wager he's been taking notes on possible replacements. I
think the Izzy Brown to step into that role discussion seems the most likely.

I personally loved Saiz, when he was on song he was unplayable. Issue was he
wasn't really on song often enough, if he had been he would have been playing
for a top 5 team in the prem. When he was he was a joy to watch.
I'm getting old and as I do I realize I want my football to be entertaining, I
wants to see little moments of magic and he supplied that.

Best,

Jeremy

As an impact substitute it’ll be a negative if he goes, but after the first few
games other teams quickly learnt how to play him, and despite some skills, his
lack of speed and petulance are a liability. Who knows if the fact he wants to
go back is down to his wife’s homesickness - it might just be he’s not getting
picked?

I hope Bielsa is making notes of players he sees who could fit into his system,
as it seems unlikely we won’t need some recruits.

Going back to Saiz, my abiding memory will be THAT dive, when he writhed on the
floor like a salmon out of water :-)

Re: [LU] Saiz

2018-12-13 Thread John Lee via Leedslist
As an impact substitute it’ll be a negative if he goes, but after the first few
games other teams quickly learnt how to play him, and despite some skills, his
lack of speed and petulance are a liability. Who knows if the fact he wants to
go back is down to his wife’s homesickness - it might just be he’s not getting
picked?

I hope Bielsa is making notes of players he sees who could fit into his system,
as it seems unlikely we won’t need some recruits.

Going back to Saiz, my abiding memory will be THAT dive, when he writhed on the
floor like a salmon out of water :-)

The Guardian is saying that Eleven Sports not doing well will most likely mean
Radz will open his checkbook in Jan in an effort to get to the premier league
this year as all that cash will offset the loss from this company and then
some. Radz seems a smart enough bloke to me and the above makes sense, he's
always said if he's not in the prem in 3 years time he'll sell

Seems his Mrs is preggers and homesick.
Mixed feelings if he goes.
When on his game, he is unplayable, but seems to "disappear" when the cold
sets in and the pitches become bumpy.

if the £ is spent on a GK, CH and winger, then better to lose him if his
mind is not in it.

I don't think it is just Saiz that Heck needs to get the best out of.  He
has to find a combination and formation that gets the best out of all of
them.

As has been mentioned before, Only Jannson, Forshaw, Saiz and Hernandez (+
Ayling injured)  look capable of performing well enough on a regular basis.
To be fair to Berardi, he is steady enough and even the much-maligned Cooper
is less error-prone than last year.

Of the others, I believe that Lasogga, Roofe, Alioski, Dallas, Vieira,
Phillips, O'Kane all have something to offer.
The problem is that they either have more flaws than attributes or are just
so inconsistent as to be unreliable.

Heck has to work out where/how to play them, to maximise their strengths and
hide their weaknesses.
Then work out what the f*** to do about the left-back and goalkeeper
positions, because Wiedwald and De Bock are too error prone to even make it
into the group above.  If 5 of the 7  in that group play at their best we
can beat Wolves. If none do, we'll get hammered.

I know where you are coming from but we cannot afford to lose our better
players and Saiz is certainly one of them !Despite all the doom and gloom
merchants on waccoe, all the ST holders who aren't 'bothering tonight' (an
attitude I find very strange) I am quite looking forward to it - a few beers
and a chatting nonsense with my mates and then get to watch Leeds - maybe play
crap and be hammered, maybe play well and win - or somewhere in between, what
is not to love
The tosser on waccoe who claims he is staying home to watch a Champions League
game wants to take a good look in the mirror and bite his tongue next time he
claims to be a Leeds fan !
DavePS - I see Sanchez Watt - still only 27- is playing in about the 10th
Division now. Not sure I believe the story that he was  sent off for saying
"Watt" and the ref thinking he kept saying "what?"- seems a bit like a 2

Big game for Saiz, tonight, I reckon.

I read on one of those moronic clickbait sites today an article: 5 reasons why
Leeds should sell Saiz in the summer. I started out reading it scoffingly, but
ended up thinking that actually they've got a point.

Obviously, us losing all 6 games of his suspension made him look indispensable,
but is he really that valuable?

As our resident sage RW pointed out quite correctly last week, he is obviously
a pretty repulsive twat personally. He is also extremely volatile. It would be
great tonight if we had a ref who recognised that every team in this league has
figured out that the way to stop him is to do Mourinho-style take-it-in-turns
fouling. But we will probably have another bonehead who won't even notice. So
will Saiz end up with yet another yellow card received after he himself was
fouled..or worse, a red?

Another thing is that I have a feeling the other players all become a bit
jittery (as if they weren't bloody jittery enough already after our recent
results) due to Saiz's intensity and obvious frustration. I was over for the
Forest match, when Saiz was very impressive, but I felt the rest of the team
was slightly intimidated by him. Roofe's chance, set up by Saiz after a
brilliant run, and smacked against the bar when he should have scored, was a
case in point.

TBH, SS was about as rubbish as everybody else up at Boro.

I hope he is brilliant and scores and leads us to victory
tonightbut if he isn't...???!!!

Agree with Dave though, 6 games seems harsh when you can get 3 for breaking
someone's leg and only 9 was it for racially abusing or biting someone like

Re: [LU] Saiz!

2017-09-25 Thread nat...@sky.com
Most of the games so far (and I cannot see it changing) have been allocated on
away season ticket first  then 80 % ST holder and 20 % members - BUT the 80%
has been on a loyalty basis - need to have applied for tickets for so many away
games (ST holders cannot apply for the remainging 20% which are memebers only)
Bolton was 'open sale' but sold out within an hour (5,600 from memory)
I do think that loyalty is best - I know when I went to most away games I was
well annoyed when someone who had not been all season beat me on the net to the
biggest two games at the end of the season (Preston sticks in my mind, albeit
I was happy in the end since we lost 4 nil and I did get a ticket for the play
off semi the following week

Having said that it needs to be properly 'policed' and this is where it falls
down
Back in my England watching games points (later called caps) were awarded -
3pts for an away,2 pts for a home friendly and 1point for a home competitive.
They soon realised it was being abused (fans buying tickets for away games and
not going) - so at first they told everyone to keep proof of travel and hotels
and bar bills etc and they contacted fans at random to prove they had actually
beenThis did not really work so they then made people give their travel details
in advance - for all fans . Even this did not work as fans printed up false
flight tickets and the like., so they ended up with everyone having to pick up
match tickets either in the town the day before the game - they set up an
office for this or from a ticket collection point. You had to go in person with
ID - it was a real pain but it did work
I think Cardiff will show the misuse of LUFC system - we got an extra 500
tickets on open sale after it was announced as a TV game and only a week before
the fixture. These sold out straight away - it will be interesting to see if
the away end is full or these just bought them for the 'loyalty'
I have read about one club recently (?Brighton?) moaning that they sold 2,000
tickets for their league cup game but only 560 turned up - something like that

As for the size of allocation - clubs tend to get the lower allocation on a
'sale or return basis' but if they ask for more they have to pay for them all
even if unsold. This was one of Bates big arguments with fans - if we sold out
of the 2,ooo allocation for example they would offer us another 2,000 but we
had to pay for them all, and only had 1000 more fans wanting to go, so Bates
did not take the extra. As I say with Cardiff Radz has bought the extra hoping
to sell them all
It is a difficult one - I do think fans who go to most away games do deserve
the hard to come by tickets but it does need some system where fans need to
prove that they went

Yeah - it's a gripe with me too! I'm the same, season ticket holder for
ages & would like to go to 5 or 6 away games - not much of a chance!

You've either got to be sat on a PC when they go on sale, or have loyalty
points which you can only get by going to away games which I can't get
tickets for cos I haven't got loyalty points!

I know quite a few who buy away tickets with no intention of going, just to
get loyalty points, and then sell the tickets on. Then, when a loyalty
game comes up they're in the front of the queue - pretty annoying! And it
irks me that some young "new" fan can just go to a handful of away games
and they then get preference over us!

I know everyone's got a different opinion about loyalty points but there
must be a fairer method?

How about:

1 point for League Home games

2 points for home League Cup games (as they're usually harder to shift)

2 points for away games

Altho this would still favour people who go to more away games it won't
alienate season ticket holders!

I always look forward to 3rd (& hopefully 4th) round of the FA Cup to go
away, but I fear no matter who we play this season - if its away - I won't
get a ticket.

Last one I tried for and failed was the League Cup game with Liverpool.
Was sat at my PC bang on 10.30 and still failed to get one!

Oh well, be even worse if we ever do get promoted

Jansson would have stopped their first goal but i get leaving him

As for Wiedwald - yes it was a howler but not as bad as their
keepers ! - he is going to make errors but TC has confidence in him
and our start to the season cannot be faulted really - our defence
has only let in 5 league goals, 2 from corners when Pontus was
missing, a stupid penalty, an offside goal and one keeping error -
not bad out of 9 games. Even more impressive when you look at how
many different centre back pairings / changes to the back four we
have had to make. The bit in the first half when he came rushing out
of his box was brilliant - my mate shouted (to be honest screamed is
more accurate) 'what the f..k are you doing - get back' , but he
timed it to perfection and, as he has a lot of the time, he stopped
the danger before it materialised. He is not to everyones taste and
will give us some concerns but I am happy enough to keep him in the

Re: [LU] Saiz

2017-08-10 Thread - -
cocky little so and so as well...just before his and our second there
was a whole bunch of shenanigans on the half way line, looked like he
got stamped, stood up yelling at the ref and the defender
involved...pointing to his thigh, where presumably there were
stud/scratch marks...that seemed to get some adrenalin going a few
seconds later he was waltzing through for the second, which was a
   peach.

All our second half goals had something good about them, whether it was
holding off from just blindly crossing the ball into the box, instead
actually picking someone out...great run over half the field by the
winger before the cross...nice pull back...some good interplay for the
   second...all very heartening.

Still, against 4th division defenders though...
