Could you, please, explain me a real usage of the LVM in the server

Do you really need to "online" expand your "opt" or "home" directory which
is worth to have additional layer in disk access?
Moreover, databases already have such functionality

I was introduced to LVM by colleagues.
Since then, I have used it increasingly.
It is the central facilitator for most of my storage needs.

That is interesting answer. One thing came to my mind is the live guest

Hi All,
I'm reading about implementing zFCP for Linux under VM and i see that
multipathing is handled in Linux itself.
As z/VM is aware of multipathing on the EDEVICE level, why we can't use
this and then just attach already multipathed disk to Linux?
Thanks.

What is the difference between this commands?
My linux has OSA (eth) and hsi interfaces. And OSA isn't primary router.
So, what should i do, to connect Hipersocket's network with outside LAN
through my Linux eth interface?
WBR, Sergey
If you write some commands to file, then create link to it in rcX catalog
with number 99 (S99MyLastScript), you'll get what you want.
