The PDF graphic displays fine in the GUI. I had to switch from LuaTeX
fonts to standard ones and compile with pdflatex (to avoid missing font
errors), but the compiled PDF file had both graphics.

2.3.2-1, up to date Win10).

However this test file is solid equations, and shows up

prompt with debugging output turned on (for instance, "path>\lyx.exe -dbg any"), and if the LyX GUI opens, you can see what
would have been console output via View > Messages. Starting LyX with
commands that do not open the GUI (such as -help, as Kornel points out)
