Search and replace with format?

Problem with formulas (AMS package used)

Hi I have a table with formulas - which works fine, but the formulas look (for my taste at least) quite bad, i.e. subscript difficult to identify as subscript and the same size as the normal letters (see attached pdf). Is there anything I can do except of changing the font size for each subscript

Hello, I use babel with this command for LyX 1.4.2 on Windows XP: \usepackage[italian]{babel} I've downloaded on MikTeX the package miktex-hyph-italian with the hyphenation patterns. But I doubt babel uses them, as there are some word with wrong hyphenation. The latex log say this: Babel v3.8g

Dear Uwe Nearly there. The command in preamble numbers the equation in each section .without the section number. I want the equation number in ascending order irrespective of section number e.g. 1, 2, 3 etc for section n (before they were numbered n.1, n.2 etc. I need to turn of a section

Dear there, I just deleted all contents in the "path" preference, and closed the Lyx. Now I can not start Lyx, the error messege is "Could not create a temporary directory in . Make sure that this path exists and is writable and try again". How can I get out of it? Thanks. (I am using Lyx 1.4.2
