Dear edu,

Please always specify that you mean 2.3.0alpha1-1 (or a custom-compiled
2.3.0dev), because the final release of 2.3.0 will be significantly
different.

Thank you very much for testing 2.3.0alpha1-1. It's very useful to us
because although developers are testing it, no one except you is testing
with Arabic so you might be able to catch bugs that no one else will.

> tcolorbox not work in the title of

> please see attachments files.

Your arabic .lyx file that you attached is in 2.3.0alpha1-1 format. So I
cannot test with 2.2.x. I exported to 2.2.x format but when I did that
and compiled with 2.2.x it worked the same as with 2.3.0alpha1-1. Can
you send the 2.2.x format version that compiles correctly with 2.2.x but
that does not compile correctly with 2.3.0alpha1-1?

Also, when you say "upgrade" above, it makes me think that you are using
2.3.0alpha1-1 as your only LyX version, which makes me a little nervous
since it is a development version intended only for testing (I'm sorry
for not making this clear in the announcement).

Then I suggest a complete restart:

1. uninstall LyX _completely_ (including the user preferences)
2. uninstall MiKTeX _completely_ (use the "tidy up thoroughly" option)
3. check the Windows registry that there are no traces of LyX and MiKTeX
4. reinstall MiKTeX using the latest installer:
 http://mirrors.ctan.org/systems/win32/miktex/setup/basic-miktex-2.9.5872.exe
5. open an Internet connection
6. reinstall LyX using the latest installer:
http://ftp.lyx.de/LyX%202.1.4/LyX-214-Installer-5.exe

This should work.

Hi.

Long time no answer. Sorry.

My computer system is 64 bit Window 7 OS

My problem is described in here:

http://www.lyx.org/trac/ticket/9486

In here, the writer’s problem is solved, but not in mine.

What should I have to do?

Reconfigure failed.

Massage: The system reconfiguration has failed. Default textclass is used but
LyX may not be able to work properly. Please reconfigure again if needed.

In my opinion, the LyX doesn’t catch the Mitex with configuration error. And, I
was trying to figure it out with compiling python, but I failed.

Still need some help.

Thanks.

That is the problem. In this stage lyx is collecting some info from your system.

Therefore we have to find a solution for this first.

Can you send us the messages you get if configuring?

It seems that ams text.sty style file is missing in your Miktex
installation.
You should install the amsmath package of Miktex.

You should install the package containing amstext.sty via you LaTeX or Linux

Should be " \seti\end{enumerate}", shouldn't it?.

Not with LyX's means. You need to use, as I have done, the package etoolbox,
which provides the hook \AtEndEnvironment.

But note that you will run into the same problems with nested lists with your
approach.

Thanks

It works.

But I don't know how I supposed to use it.

1. To set enumerate-resume only to parent levels where I need resuming.

In this case to set the nested sublevels to normal enumerate.

2. To set everything, including the nested sublevels, to enumerate-resume.

I tried both and both worked.

Still I am curious if I can change in the local layout the end of

an environment; e.g to change "\end{enumerate}" to

"\end{enumerate} \seti". Is is possible?

Thank you for your work.

I thought I could use a local layout and where I modify the
\begin{enumerate} and \end{enumerate} commands.

For example:

Style Beamer-Enumerate-Resume
CopyStyle Enumerate
LatexParam\conti
OptionalArgs 0
# a blue label to indicate that this is not a WYSIWYG label
# because the numbering differs in the output
LabelFont
  Color blue
EndFont
End

This adds \begin{enumerate} \conti

at the beginning of the environment when Beamer-Enumerate-Resume is set.

But I don't know how I could modify the end of the environment:

to change "\end{enumerate}" to "\end{enumerate} \seti".

Is it possible?

I attach an example file which includes the above local layout.
I inserted "\seti" commands in ERT, and it work, but I would like
them to be inserted by the style.

Thanks,

bcsikos

OK. I set all items to Enumerate-Resume. Even then it works only

if I have one level. If an item has subitems it does not work.

What I want to achieve is making tests.

The questions are numbered and each slide has one question.

The answers below the questions are labeled by capital letters from

A to D or E. I want to be able to rearrange the order of questions

without changing the numbers manually. I also want to copy questions

between documents. As a next step I also would like to highlight the correct

answers, inlcuding the labels (if it is possible at all).

I just described this because there might be other methods to make such

documents than I tried to do so far.

Well, in the first example, you use the style incorrectly: You have to use the
style "Enumerate-Resume" for _the whole list_ which should start with a
resumed number. In other words: Never mix normal Enumerate and
Enumerate_Resume in a single list.

I have not dealt yet with nested enumerations. This obviously needs more work.
I will have a look at this.

There's no need to insert the stackexchange code (in fact, this is not
possible with LyX, as you noticed yourself). Instead, use the module I posted:
http://marc.info/?l=lyx-users&m=138218324718365&w=2

If you use the new style "Enumerate-Resume" provided by the module, the
necessary code will be inserted automatically.

If you need to know how to install and use a "module", look here:
http://wiki.lyx.org/Layouts/Modules

Jürgen, thanks again.

I looked at the stackexchange link. I copied the necessary code into my
preamble.

But I don't know where to insert commands \seti and \conti.

Especially \conti is problematic as I don't know how I can insert it between

"\begin{enumerate}" and the first "\item" commands.

I made a beamer minimal example file which I attach here.

I have two levels enumerated lists, practically one first level in each frame.

Could you please show me on my example file how and where to insert those
commands
exactly?

Thanks,

The attached module implements an "Enumerate-Resume" style for beamer. This
works with LyX 2.0 and 2.1, with beamer and beamerarticle and both with

Beamer and enumitem are incompatible. You can resume manually or with some
LaTeX trickery, see e.g.

It works. Thank you.

I have two questions.

1. The code inserted as local layout does override/replace the code specified
in enumitem module?

2. Loosely related. I tried powerdot because enumitem does not work with
beamer. And beamer even starts numbering enumerate list from 1 in every new
frame/slide. If I could resume enumeration in beamer I would prefer to use
beamer.

# a blue label to indicate that this is not a WYSIWYG label

The reason is that powerdot has its own list syntax and an additional optional
argument, so the enumitem module produces the wrong code here.

Short answer: no.
Long answer: compile lyx file = export to pdf. It gives error message and does
not produce pdf output (using ps2pdf).

error in lyx with powerdot and enumitem resume

2013-10-18 Thread Csikos Bela
Hello:

I would like to use powerdot with enumitem in lyx.

I use powerdot class (selected in lyx class selection window) and enumitem
module (selected in lyx modules window, as customisable lists) in lyx 2.0.6.

When I insert enumerated lists and set the second and following lists to resume
lyx can not compile the document. It gives error:

! Package xkeyval Error: `resume*' undefined in families `enumitem'.

The package versions I have reported by lyx/latex log:

Package: enumitem 2011/09/28 v3.5.2
powerdot.cls Document Class: powerdot 2012/03/13 v1.4i

I attach a non-working example file, powerdot-enumitem.lyx

How to fix this?

Thanks,

bcsikos

From the top of my head, problems with turkish include

1/ in Turkish locale, `I' is not the uppercase of `i', because dotted
and dotless versions of this letter exist.

2/ there is a common problem with babel due to the fact that the =
character is made active. This breaks in particular the keyval package.

Thank you for sending the .lyx file. I can reproduce your error.

This looks like a babel bug to me. However, I'm not experienced with

Try compiling without adding anything to the preamble. To note simply
states that these packages should be installed on your system. "was" is
obviously installed, and it consists of the style files "fixmath",
"gensymb", etc. as you have observed. One of these must be needed by the
Math manual. But in fact you should not need to edit anything within
that file in order to get it to compile. (if you do get compile errors,

Re: Error in Lyx Sweave (Noweb)

2011-05-13 Thread Yihui Xie
I see. Thanks for posting the log file. This is a known issue and has
been fixed in #7555: http://www.lyx.org/trac/ticket/7555 (right now I
don't know when or whether it will be applied to the next version)

The problem comes from the space in the path of your temporary
directory, so LaTeX said:

! LaTeX Error: File `C:/Users/Muhammad Yaseen/AppData/Local/Temp/lyx_tmpdir.Hp3
972/lyx_tmpbuf4/sweave_example-007' not found.

A temporary fix is to change your temporary directory to another place
which does not contain any spaces, e.g. C:\tmp

You can do this via the menu Tools-->Preferences-->Paths-->Temporary
directory. You need to restart LyX after modifying this setting and
make sure the directory exists.

Re: Error in Lyx Sweave (Noweb)

2011-05-13 Thread Yihui Xie
Hi,

You should not use the document class "article (Noweb)". Since LyX
2.0, you can use the Sweave *module* with any document classes, e.g.
article.

It seems you are using Windows, so you can take a look at the example
sweave.lyx under the examples directory (somewhere like C:\Program
Files\LyX20\Resources\examples).

Sweave no longer depends on specific layouts. This is a significant
change in LyX 2.0.

Hi,
When I tried to include an R plot with the following code into article(Noweb)
in LyX 2.0.0
<>=
library(graphics)
pairs(iris)
@

I got the following error message:
{C:/Users/MYaseen208/AppData/Local/MiKTeX/2.9/pdftex/config/pdftex.map}]
! Missing $inserted.

                $
l.146 ...ir.Hp5960/lyx_tmpbuf2/sweave_example-007}

I've inserted a begin-math/end-math symbol since I think
you left one out. Proceed, with fingers crossed.
! LaTeX Error: File `C:/Users/MYaseen208/AppData/Local/Temp/lyx_tmpdir.Hp5

Any idea to fix this problem. Thanks

No, I think you can ignore it. This dead_tie dead key is not knwon to
all X servers.

Strange key mapping error in lyx 1.1.6fix3

2001-10-12 Thread Matej Cepl

Hi,

When starting lyx with -dbg key option, strange thing occurs in stderr:

BIND: Sequence `~C-~S-~M-dead_tie' Action `82'
kbmap.C: No such keysym: dead_tie
Parse error at position 17 in key sequence '~C-~S-~M-dead_tie'.
BIND: Sequence `~C-~S-~M-dead_ogonek' Action `89'
Disabling keymap

Is it something serious?

Matej
