I ended up buying a stepdown transformer for mine. If you get a US powerboard to plug into the transformer, you can also use the US plug packs plus I have a US printer that I plug into the transformer as well. It's a beefy 1000W transformer so can handle the load. You shouldn't need something

I have now checked on completely separate hardware and am seeing the same results. I did miss that a NULL 0x00 is being appended to the file on writing to RAM as the file is 1 byte bigger in RAM. The NULL is being copied back to the SD card intact.
