Well of course, if you’re going to run a VM for your FTP server, you may as
well pick a more amenable platform as Mac OS. Linux and Windows—and especially
Linux—come to mind. You could run one of the many servers for those platforms
that can handle virtual users/groups/domains

There’s always OS X Server. Probably a little overkill if all you are looking
for is an FTP server but for $20 in the AppStore, you have an FTP server and
much more, and accessible too.

Hello. Mac OS has a built-in FTP server. You should be able to
enable it by doing the following:
1. Go to System Preferences.
2. Once you are in System Preferences, go into sharing.
3. Interact with the services table.
4. Arrow through the list of services until you get to file sharing
If they'd make their server available on the Mac, I'd be very happy. Anyone
know of a good FTP server with a comparable feature set of FileZilla Server?
I'd prefer it to be free, but if it's cheap that's fine too.
