Hum, this sounds like a switching issue. In windows, you could often highlight a selection and press f7 or some such to make it spellcheck the selected text. Mac doesn't work that way. If you have the feature turned on, it will tell you as you read back that a word is misspelled. Or, if

Hi, Webkit is the underlying framework for Safari. That is what is handling all HTML, at least on the Mac. A lot of the time, stability with Webkit is increased if you download the framework yourself and keep it up-to-date. The Apple version is far out of date. That's just a brief summary,

Aggreed Nick. When voiceover is on it alters the gestures required, and would not fit the majority of the users which aren't us... I really think that it is nit-picking critisism, as I own a touch, and my lady owns an iphone and there isn't any difficulties turning on the feature from itunes.
