Hi, I agree that from a VO prospective, this is certainly a bug. The workaround is to use System Prefs. Go into System Prefs, Accessibility, then select Speech from the table. The default System voice will be announced in the pop-up. Choose Customize from this menu and you can uncheck

Sorry, that I don't have. I use a network drive connected to my router, but not very often. It's there when I look, but I don't know when it mounts. Still, it never gives me an error. I don't use my Mac for shared folders on other computers or anything like that, only my Windows box at work.
