Does the gasket shrink over time (and then pull away from the corners?) or

Wife really likes a 2011 ML350BT at a local dealer. CPO, low miles.
Anything I should look out for with this vehicle? Only issues I know of
are potential leaking oil cooler and no transmission dipstick. Are these
real issues? ( if it's covered to 100k miles). Anything else?
BTW, our friends

No rust, garage kept, etc. Drives, handles great. It's what we drive

Has a factory replacement engine right around the time
Well, SWMBO is considering downsizing her 03 Tahoe, so we've been test
driving a few small SUVs. ( X3, Q5 and some MBZ's)
Test drove a '11 ML Bluetec and '12 GLK. I am partial to the diesel, but
wife likes the GLK. From prices I've looked at, a '11 ML350 Bluetec is
about the same money as a
check and keep/part out the vehicle, or if that's even an
option, which was a thought, if I wanted to get rid of it, knowing the model's
stellar reliability reputation. g

Once I get my schedule straight for that week, maybe we can hook up for
lunch/dinner somewhere local in Jax?

the oil co's aren't taking advantage of the situaition.
Also, if crude is traded in dollars, and we've devalued our currency, how
much has cude gone up just due to that?
Just my opinion...YMMV

Hey Rusty and Bill,
How was lunch at Singletons? With the Shrimp Festival in Fernandina, I'm
sure the ferry back was a bitch to catch. Heard it was backed up all the
way to the Lighthouse..or did you take the bridge back?

We'll never see a Blutec diesel loaner here. Years ago, when I bought my
1'st new BMW (1979 320 I), my dealer used to give me a 530 i stick as a
loaner, regurlarly when I brought my car in. When he did, I'd take the
day off from work and go joy-riding. vbseg

Rusty,
If I see I'll be down there in May when you are, I'll give you a shout.
Ever go to the old Strickland's resturant between Singleton's and the ferry
slip? My Friend's Uncle owned it and she and her brother worked there till
it closed.

This truly sucks. I kinda figured something was up when I stopped seeing
his postings. He helped me out many times with my diesel, both on and off
this list.
He was a dirverse great man who will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
I'd kick in some bucks, too.

that cause a nasty fire in the right crash?
