I have found some on eBay that say they are OEM and are $92. I found one
on partsgeeks that's $98.

Many of the people with used switches on eBay want $50 for them.

Peter,
Have you ever taken a valve apart? I'm wondering if that would be a good next
step? I don't want to destroy it, if I can't find an obvious problem, I'd like
to put the valve back in service.

Never tried to take one apart, I'll look in the garage tonight and see
if I still have an old one around.
The real problem is that I don't believe you can get repair parts for
them.

Probably a good idea. Also check for leaks. Trouble spots are:
High pressure line from condenser to receiver/dryer -- this is the
first hose to go bad
O-rings between compressor and mainfold on top of it, high pressure
side erodes
O-rings between hose manifold and compressor manifold,
Thanks Peter!

The problem with this EPC is that it doesn't show supercessions, so things like
the strip fuses that are most certainly around can show old numbers that are
NLA, but have superseded to a newer number.

Last night I rigged a 10w test light bulb to the monovalve control signal
connector (21w is too big, overdraws the PBU and it shuts off to
self-protect).
The bulb test showed proper result for one test in the FSM: put the PBU
into off state (button 0 on the far right) and read voltage, which is
BTW, the identical Bosch 30 amp fusible link for MB blowers is available at

Last night I installed a new 124 shifter bushing for the connection at the
gear shift lever. Not too fun but just possible without taking too much
apart.
The bushing at the transmission end is also gone and needs to be replaced,
looks REALLY tight and not possible in-situ.
Has anyone removed

I went to drive down to Albuquerque recently before sunrise and found the
instrument cluster lights came on in the running light position of the
light switch of our '82 240D/3.0, but when I switched to the headlight

I had the headlight switch in my '95 124 sedan get wonky; one night it was very
stiff. It did turn on, but the detente feel was never right after that, so I
found a junkyard replacement. I wouldn't trust an aftermarket switch, and OE
from the dealer is a bit rich.
