I think the emphasis should be on people who run red lights, because that is intrinsically dangerous and quite often deadly. Plenty of speeding cars never crash but running a red light is scary as hell. You gotta work like an A guy or you’ll kill someone. If you’re doing tire/wheel work, the last thing you do when the car gets put back on the floor is to go around and torque every lug bolt. Period. It’s a pattern you never deviate from. No exceptions. -D > On Mar 21, 2022, at 7:14 PM, Kaleb Striplin via Mercedes > wrote: > > That lift is going to kill somebody. Re: [MBZ] Corn based ethanol
Oh a bit tongue in cheek, but like most things, the reality is complicated. Kind of like that far side of the cow holding a poorly painted sign that says "Eat More Chikin" It's difficult to teach a man to understand a concept when his livelihood depends upon him not understanding it. You arent going to get the cows to support less Chicken subsidies, because people would eat more beef. You also arent going to get corn farmers to believe that ethanol is environmentally damaging or worthless, or that ethanol subsidies are a bad idea, because they would then have to believe they are morally bad for participating in that, and they know they are not immoral, so ethanol must not be bad. Also known as cognitive dissonance. On Fri, Mar 18, 2022, 8:38 AM Curt Raymond wrote: > I can't tell if you're sarcastic or not. Yeah, that’s one problem with the W163s. There’s only a couple of manufacturers that make that tire size. Agreed. The Kumhos I put on the W126 were only because I couldn’t find a decent (“domestic”) tire in the proper size. They did well, I was happy with them. Re: [MBZ] OT: Dexter watch offer
$75 is going to buy you a plastic monstrosity made in China. Why would anyone who is into fine time pieces want a plastic monstrosity? I quit wearing a watch full time when my last Timex died and I had a cell phone. A few years ago Angie bought me a Bulova Marine Star which is really the only jewelry I wear other than my wedding ring. I don't wear it a lot because I'd go wrench on a car and forget its there and damage it but it's nice for occasional use. Frankly I don't understand the allure of the smart watch. I'm trying to get less contact with my phone, not strap the dang thing to my wrist... -Curt On Monday, March 21, 2022, 12:25:33 PM EDT, Andrew Strasfogel via Mercedes wrote: OK. Re: [MBZ] OT: Dexter watch offer
I'm as big a fan of retro styling as any, but that thing is just weird. NOBODY back in the day when these style elements were mainstream would have made anything that looked like this. WTF is up with the mix of "9" and "three" for hour markers on #1? It just seems... off. Also, I'm not really a fan of hands for a round clock set in a very long rectangle. Hard to read, unless you just pretend it's a mark-less round dial. Looks like it was designed by the Borg. Kinda a strong 'patchwork' vibe to it. The Chinglish advert is not that attractive, either. Also, the LCD display patch should be e-Ink. _That_ would be classy. Perhaps the LCD is readable in dark, or near-dark? Couldn't say, there's no online information on how to use it readily available. -- Jim ___ http://www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com
