I know a couple of people you can get the aluminum ones from for $200 shipped
with new O rings. That's pretty much the market price on Benzworld these
days. You're going to go in there, you might as well do them all

More likely to be a bad oil pressure sender, which is not uncommon in the W140
chassis. In fact, I had to change the one on my S420, but more because it was
leaking. The gauge was still working properly. Easy job, takes all of about
10 minutes if that.

Directly behind the alternator towards the middle of the car. It comes off the
bottom of the oil filter housing where it meets the engine.
If you get under the car, just find the alternator and follow the harness back
towards the firewall. It's right there.

That's pretty much what I saw in the examples of why you shouldn't use a
pleated filter. Lots of them that looked like they disintegrated or just blew
apart.
Nothing but fleece for my car after seeing that

Pleats are no bueno.
I had a free service coupon for a reputable shop very near my home. This
fellow has done work for me on any non-MB vehicles I've owned. So I took in
my '08 CLK 350 for a service and I had all the correct filters in the front
seat.
When I walked over to pick up the car, the oil

Yeah, what little I found around the inter web suggests that the pleated paper
filters aren't up for the change intervals and as a result the media breaks
down and fails. Also saw some comments about the fleece, particulate size, and
compatibility with synthetic oils. Interesting.

I think the fleece is the real deal and the pleats are not going to do the job
as needed. It looks like the pressure exerted on the old filter was enough to
crush it.
I have not been able to find an oil pressure in the drop down menu. Maybe you
can suck it out with a code reader?

Did the “A” service on the S430 today. It was due in a couple thousand miles,
so I figured I would get ahead of the curve and do it. Some things I
encountered I have questions about since this is my first W220 car:
The oil filter that was in the car was a pleated type made in Poland. No
