I think that the later years of the W115 could be purchased with factory AC. Our 1970 22D had a dealer installed AC unit when we got it, the two 1976 W115 300D's we had both had factory AC. How to tell the difference? The MB service manuals covered the factory AC, but the unit in the 220D did not

I’ve had both a manual 240D (undoubtedly more desirable) and an auto and I don’t mind the auto. I understand what it is and I drive it that way. AC is wonderful here in the hubs of hell but it’s never been a deal breaker in a vehicle that is not going to be our primary transportation. AZBob
