Educate me, please. What is FYA?
We are allowed much latitude to be
...240D? 280E? Grey market 300D or 230E?..
Likely a 280E since the top of 1st gear mark is at 34+mph. Second, that
style of headlight was not in the low end models which eliminates the
4-cylinder model.
Had both styles of 123 Euro lights and know the difference on sight.

His list, such as it is, is minor except for the
ball joints, he could DIY in a weekend

sounds to me like he paid WAY too much for it, got caught up in the
bidding. Also sounds like it just needs routine stuff they will all need.

I've read that it took quite a lot of strength to fly the B17 -
stable, but hard to maneuver.

...B-17 - fast??? Large? Heavy? Yeah, I know - it's all relative and for
its
time.
That was a wrong guess. As I posted earlier today, it's the B-29. And it's
significant because of the Enola Gay.

Cool! A B17 is scheduled to come by town on tour - only $250 for a 25
minute ride.
I spent two hours last week with a friend getting the VIP tour of Boeing's
restored and airworthy B-17 and Seattle's Museum of Flight's B-29. I learned a
lot.
